Plumbing in Washing Machine & Dishwasher

I already have a washing machine plumbed in. I want to add dishwasher. However, do not know how to. Are there any connectors I can buy at DIY shops ? Currently have one pipe from dishwasher to waste (in to trap below sink). Can I add waste from dishwasher to this ? W,Machine is cold fill so have use of hot pipe, how do I get another pipe from cold fill pipe. I know there will be hundreds out there laughing. For me D.I.Y = Don't Involve Yourself !

You can buy all the bits. Find a local builder's merchant or the Plumb Centre. Cheaper (mainly) and much more knowledgable than B&Q and all those other places. If you phone up the Plumb centre then they can probably provide the bits you need ready for collection by yourself.

If you connect both machines to the waste under the sink I think there is a danger of the water from one syphoning into the other.

Any experts out there?

I think washing machines etc have to be anti syphoning. I've never known one do it.

They are not anti syphon but you have to make sure that the waste on both appliances are reaching a suitable height before joining the pipe. If possible have the waste coming from the apps going up and then back down before joining the pipe, a height of about 3/4 of the appliance height should be suitable.
