Morrisons problem with cafe

Options
I go regular to morrisions with a friend for dinner.

We have been having the mini fish and chips meal and choosing to replace the peas with salad. This has been fine , occasionaly they mix the order up. This what happened on friday night. We where then told it was not an option on the menu to replace the peas and to have salad will be charged extra. My friend has the same meal at another morrison store , and they have the option on the till to replace the peas with salad or mushy peas. Why can one store do that and another put a stop too it.

So I can't quite see the reasons for these silly rules.

Its a bargain meal (<£3) for myself being on Job Seekers Allowance.

Has anyone else experience this as well?

Also they would not let my friend buy a hot pudding after 5:30pm as well, still more stupid rules? I will be getting in touch with morrisons too see if there any reasons for them , not that I can think off?
Its getting hard to find somewhere to have a resonable priced meal now adays that actually taste of anything?
Now that sainsbury & tesco have both outsourced there cafes , they all over priced like £4/£5.

I agree Mark sounds silly to me. I agree meals are prohibitingly expensive when one is on on low income. Morrisons seem to be the only cheap place around these days, not that I go there often, perhaps 1-2 times a year, only treat I have is the chippy and thats only chips every month or so.

Morrisons cafe rocks (in most stores - in Guiseley they've replaced it with something else which isn't as good). They have different rules in different stores though - I'm sure at Mayo Ave (Bradford) you get gravy with yer topside sarny but at Heckmondwike you have to pay extra for it - mad!

    I'd write to them....

    Wm Morrison Supermarkets plc
    Hilmore House
    Thornton Road
    Bradford
    BD8 9AX

    Hope this helps

Yeah i was just thinking that it probably , that each local store cafe has it policy , how sillly really. I am not sure now how silly that is , could create a whole new set of problems if was the lowest common rule set in the centre. I thought the customer was right in retail.

I ate at Morrisons for the first time last week. Me and OH starving but a bit short of time. We were impressed with ordering hot food as soon as we joined queue (1pm) about 10 mins later we had paid for our meal, taken our number and sat down. Our food didn't arrive until 1.40pm. It was only bacon, sausage, egg, chips and beans. I did fill in a customer comment form to say the service is too slow but have not heard anything.

Sometimes they can be really quick.

And other times it can take an age.

    Love the place though :D

you can normally tell how long you will have to wait by how busy the cafe is.. i dont mind waiting but if your short of time mabey ask how long or grab one of the sandwiches that are already there..

I probably visit more Morisons throughout the country than the average person, and generally find them excellent.

As they cook everything fresh, this is when the waiting time can be extended, I always look first and ask the assistant how long the wait is, If I don't have time to wait, I will probably buy one of their self selection salads and eat it in the car.

Funnily enough I would expect to wait at anytime bar lunch time as I would expect the cook time to be slower due to them not knowing demand. However I ordered their daily special and as a Cafe Virgin (bet not many of you can say that;) ) I did ask when I ordered where do I get my food and how. She said "oh by the time you've paid it should be almost ready". It was only when I got to the till that I realised I had to have a flag!

I've had a make your own salad to take away from the main shop for lunch before but I thought it was tasteless. It was cheap though. I haven't tried their sarnies. Are they better than Asda's?
