would you maintain the same payments or re-negotiate them spud?

I want to be able to send more whenever I get any overtime etc, never pay any less.

  • Once you pay more don't they start arguing that because you can now afford to increase the payments that they unfreeze the interest and demand the higher amount every month?

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

  • Spud, Linda is right, wouldn't you be better (whether you stay with CCCS or not) to save up any extra so you can offer full & finals?

I keep trying to save up, but something always 'crops up' and the money is gone. I guess I should probably keep going with CCCS.

  • Have to say I'm inclined to agree with red squirrel on that, what's your current debt free date with CCCS?
Do you stand to reduce it by a lot if you go it alone?
I'm a bit of a 'don't rock the boat unless you have to' person.

Unfortunately there's not a damned thing we can do about that, it happens to everyone!
At least if you have a bit to use for the unexpected things that always crop up at the most awkward moments, it's not increasing the debt!

EDIT: I'm trying to think of people on here who have gone it alone themselves, they are probably the best to guide you through if you're going it alone.

It's forever away Linda, I'm ashamed to admit it's Oct 2028.

  • No need to be ashamed at all!
you're doing something about it, even if it takes a while it takes guts.
the shame is in continuing to bury your head in the sand!

What that clever lady said ^^

It's a tough one but I always get the impression that CCCS etc give you a bit of stability. I negotiated with my creditors myself and I seem to have to deal with some sort of cr*p from one or other of them every few months.
