We run Freeview of a portable TV set aerial, so not everyone needs a new aerial.
Currys do a Fusion twin tuner freeview hd recorder "equivelent/similar features" to Sky+ box for a one off £119.99. So much cheaper though not as versatile at mo.
    You takes your choice.

Worth thinking about if you were going to pay £50ish for a Freeview box on its own, much better value, imho

DC - I have brought a Fusion 200 from Currys last week at a discounted rate (5%) from £169.99 in store to £161 - where did you find it for £119.99 as I can not find it at all

A brilliant little box of tricks :)

Edit: I found it, its the 100 model with 40GB of space where the 200 model has 80GB of space so for the difference of £40 I will settle for the extra 40GB ;)

Called up Sky today on 0800 7316965, quoted 'New Customer Offer' and am getting my free Sky+ installed on Monday, plus 3 months half price. I also specified that I wanted a Pace box. I'm one very pleased bunny :).

We just had it installed for £49 if you upgrade to Multiroom (an extra £10 as we have movies already but can downgrade after a year) and it is free installation. Worth it but the only thing we tried to record so far failed.

i have 2 sisters, a younger one and a married 'middle' one. My younger sister came round the other day telling us that my sister and her husband had got my mum sky for Xmas and just had it installed and had given her the box and the dish, etc.. and that S&BIL was paying the £7.50 a month for 3 months and then mum has to pay £18 a month there on (nice gift when mum is skint).

However, we then showed younger sister the gumph on the internet that Sky have the 'Introduce a friend' offer where the 'friend' gets the box and installation free, half price for 3 months and then the Introducer get free Sky+, Ipod Shuffle thingy or £50 M&S voucher.... My younger sister came back today and told me the brother in law had been bragging that they were getting upgraded to Sky+. My sister just smirker at him apparently. CHEAPSKATES!! No way mum can afford Sky for a year and my sister and her husband just got her Sky as an Xmas present so that they get the the free Sky+ box. Who says you get something for nothing these days. Had to share because despite my sister being so tight that she squeeks when she walks, we thought that nothing could beat this!!

I forgot to say - if you book online you can even choose the date that you want it installed. We ordered Friday for delivery the next Monday - well impressed with the 3 day waiting time as we assumed it would be well after Xmas.
