Can you get the daily mirror offer if you apply online? I know thats pushing it but if you apply online for the current '1/2 price for 3 months offer' they are advertising at the moment that you get £10 credit. Was planning on going through Quidco (who are offering £50 cashback), thus getting £60 credit in total. Assumable Sky wouldn't know about the Quidco but so I'm wondering if you could get the dvd player through an online application and win all round.

If not I can't decide which to do.... depends how much I could get for the dvd player on Ebay!

Also, whats involved in installation? I just started renting a place and it already has a dish but not a box. If I get free installation though I still want to get a new dish incase I move so that I can take it with me. Well confused!
  • Ordered Sky+ as a new customer on monday of last week paying the £49 for the box was therefore a bit gutted to read it was a free to new customers today. So rang Sky to cancel and sign up for free box. Woman at sky was a bit cagey and said the offer had only started on friday and that is wasn't the case that everyone would get a free sky+ box that there was more to it than that and that i had to say where the offer had come from and could i quote a reference code anyone any ideas ? Threatened to cancel and call their bluff but she wasn't having any of it just said "its an offer but a different offer" ??????.

Nope, i just read through, no e-mail address given.
You need to send in the voucher printed and have it in by the 3rd of Dec.

just tried cancelling contract to get wife to sign up for this offer, they tried offering me half price and free installation of existing box. they asked for my new address to give me new offers. obviously trying to stop people gettin their partners to sign up.

yes but you also need to take into consideration the costs involved with getting a new ariel if required.

We run Freeview of a portable TV set aerial, so not everyone needs a new aerial.
Currys do a Fusion twin tuner freeview hd recorder "equivelent/similar features" to Sky+ box for a one off £119.99. So much cheaper though not as versatile at mo.
    You takes your choice.

Worth thinking about if you were going to pay £50ish for a Freeview box on its own, much better value, imho

get a friend/relative/wife/husband/dad/mum to sign up for you. The Sky goes in their name, at your address, and the monthly DD comes out of your account
  • I`m a current sky subscriber and phoned to complain about the offers for new customers, stating the code from this thread!

After some banter and threatening to cancel i was offered what i thought was a good deal which I signed up for.

I then paid £49 for upgrade to Sky+ and got 25% for the whole year, sky world £31 per month! Thats saved me £168.

And no loss of sky for cancelling and rejoining!
