Disconnection Time Limits
I live abroad and visit the UK once or twice a year. This means that it is not worth buying a pay-as-you-go sim card as it will have been disconnected by the time I next visit, given that phone operators typically do this after 90 or 180 days of inactivity. Instead I just roam on the sim card of the country I am living in (currently Ghana). Then I discovered Easy Mobile, which had no time limits, just a small fee if you did not use your 'phone for a month. Sadly, Easy Mobile packed up. Does anyone know of a deal that would allow me to use UK mobile number once or twice a year without losing the number and unused credits for being inactive inbetween?

I dont really know of any one that doesnt, but I suppose the important question will be what counts as an activity? If sending one text every three months will count that may be your cheapest option. The only way of finding the limits of the possible is by going beyond them into the impossible.

Can you not do the inverse, and roam your UK PAYG account on to the Ghanaian network, send a text, and then put it away again.0

Thanks Agsnu and Dime Bar. I shall investigate this option.0
