Email Messages blocked!!

can you also check on your email account section in outlook express that the servers for incoming and outgoing mail are

ncoming Server = mail.talktalk.net Outgoing Server = smtp.talktalk.net


Just to clarify your email settings are correct.

Well if you want to COMPLETELY shut avg down (NOT my recommendation)
Just right click the control panel icon and EXIT
try the email system again (Pretty sure it still wont work but at least youll know AVG has nothing to do with it)
then REBOOT your computer to make sure AVG is fully running again

By the way ~ AVG is an anti virus, its NOT a firewall
Do you HAVE a firewall running? Comodo? Zonealarm?

AVG 8.0 requires unusual setting for Gmail.
One of the reasons I junked it!
Off the top of my head, POP3 and SMTP have to be set at 127.0.0.0
Instructions are included in the AVG 8.0 setup.
I'll continue looking.

OR, on re-reading, am I missing the point, I thought that a Googlemail account was the problem?

A miracle has happened!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have just received an Email.
Altogether I have spent 6 hours mostly waiting for my call to be answered during the last 2 days and talk talk were unable to help. You have both been so patient and explained instructions thoroughly.
I can't thank you enough.
I was resigned to the fact that I would have to pay an expert to solve the problem as after 2 days of waiting and speaking to the higher level at Talk Talk was quite enough.

It really was a problem, I had my daughter sending relies all night and the only one came through after midnight.
