I got an IVA  last year and have paid about £1000 off. My father has recently passed away and I will be able to pay the debt in full.

Does anyone know how paying in full would affect my credit rating with regards to getting a mortgage after the debt is paid

Thanks in advance for any replies
You really need to start your own thread to get specific advice, its likely as well as paying back the full amount you'll be liable for IP fees as well, I don't think its very straightforward.

After 5 weeks, I am now starting to get my "enforceable" letters back.  PRA say this reconstituted agreement is enforceable.  I can not see my date of agreement, my personal credit limit or personal APR.  They all seem generic.  Can someone tell me if I am wrong please.  Would the experts on here accept it?

    Thanks people

Can anybody shed any light on if this mets the CCA request?

    Hello Lovely People

I'm in the very lucky position where I can pay off my debt in full, but as my credit rating is shot, I'm tempted to offer F & F especially as I've been getting letters of F&F from people.

Does anyone know how long this process takes?  Can you call them up and ask over the phone, or is it a lengthy back and forth while they make up their minds?

    Thanks

I sent my offer letters in December. Cabot were fast and I paid them at 50% in January. Capquest (actually I offered to them in January I think) I paid this month at 40% (they came back quickly on my first offer but longer on the counter offer)
link/credit security are taking forever. They took almost 2 months from my first offer, I’ve counter offered now so no idea how long that’ll be.

In short, it could be weeks it could be months, good luck!

I asked PRA for 4 CCA's over 9 months ago and just this weekend they sent me one rehashed CCA.  I have 4 debts with them that they advised were unenforceable, but now a CCA has turned up I'm hoping the other 3 don't go the same way!  I have no experience of what a CCA should look like though, so please keep me updated on how you get on?
  • Eurgh..... I've had my first reply to an offer. They've said they want to see months of bank statements, my credit file and info regarding and health issues.

I'm not a fan of sharing all this with them so I think I'm gonna have to just forget about it. 😒

I heard back from credit security today. Apparently Link won’t go any lower than £944.83 on my £1179.04 debt. I think I’ve been spoilt with my 40% and 50% settlements so far because I was really hoping they would go lower 😰 I guess I’m going to have to do some serious sums and lots of thinking and figure out if I can afford it 🥺

I got asked for details about my living situation, mortgage and equity.  I refused saying it wasn't relevant to the offer in place and would they put the offer to the client as requested.  (It is a managed account).  They replied saying they had sent it over, so it's worth giving it a shot still, or just holding tight and trying again later.  I certainly wouldn't be sending any bank statement, credit file and I would only give details of health issues if I thought it might make it easier to get the offer accepted.
