  • Phew... That was a bit cathartic. ha ha

    To be honest. I sound bitter but I'm not. I think the situation sucked because in hindsight it wasn't really fair. But going through that gave me 2 children that I wouldn't swap for the world. It gave me the desire to better myself and work towards a good job that I love. It taught me a lot about myself and living with autism and how things I say or do might not come out right or why I might be missing the point sometimes. It even put me in the path of my current girlfriend who takes me as I am and finds the way my mind works entertaining. So while I don't subscribe to such things as "everything happens for a reason", etc... I do recognise that I only got to this place because of the path I've travelled, good or bad.

    I just wanted to add that because I don't want to sound like a complainer. I know I'll get there. And I know you all can too.

    I hadn’t heard back from capquest on my counter offer, so I just logged into their portal and there was an offer on there for £470 (60% discount) so I took it, another debt down 🥳

    I made an offer to Link, via credit security, for my old Lloyds OD debt 6 weeks ago and still haven’t heard back, so I called them today but they said they’re still waiting for Link 😒 This will (hopefully) be my last debt so I’m really keen to get it settled 🤞🏻

    Good luck everyone making offers 🍀
    Debt was £15,903 😬 Now £2718.14 £0 😲🥳

    I heard back from credit security today after a slightly painful 6 - 7 week wait. Link have rejected my 30% offer and counter offered, I think, 80%. I had to say no, but I’ve offered 50%. I really, really hope I don’t have to wait almost 2 months again as I have to apply for my mortgage in the next couple of weeks 😬 is anyone else dealing with Link/ credit security ltd at the moment?

    After 5 weeks, I am now starting to get my "enforceable" letters back.  PRA say this reconstituted agreement is enforceable.  I can not see my date of agreement, my personal credit limit or personal APR.  They all seem generic.  Can someone tell me if I am wrong please.  Would the experts on here accept it?

    Thanks people

    Mine got back to me within a day which I was impressed about. Although SafetyNet are asking a billion questions on why I want to settle it etc.
    That's really fast! I've been waiting over 3 weeks for one of mine, 5 days for another...
    @GreenCat80 Have you heard anything since? Vanquis got back to me last week offering £210 settlement and I said no, but today they came back with £200 and I agreed :lol:

    Debt owed;

  • I got an IVA  last year and have paid about £1000 off. My father has recently passed away and I will be able to pay the debt in full.

    Does anyone know how paying in full would affect my credit rating with regards to getting a mortgage after the debt is paid

    Thanks in advance for any replies

    Yay! How many have you got left now? I paid off my penultimate debt last week (I think it was a 60% discount) 🥳 I finally heard back from my last one yesterday after almost 2 months and they offered me 20% off so I’m trying to get them to go lower…

    Sorry for your loss.

    I haven’t done an iva, but I spoke to a broker about my dmp and was advised I’d get a better deal if I paid everything off first. Good luck!
