Where are the smilies? they are not working?

I always like to do smilies when I post and they appear as a red cross,why has this happened,can someone enlighten me please.Is it this website or the server thats hosted them gone wrong.

I know I can't see them either, just the crosses.

But I can see them to pick them when posting!

Then they go funny!

Yes, same for me! As in they are there to choose and I can see one in a post every now and again, but otherwise they are not there!

It has been annoying me all evening!

Some are working ok but it seems once you hit "send" the software is putting errant spaces in the text stopping some from working
