To SBT with MINT you need to use the Transfer and Save cheques. Make it payable to yourself and deposit it in your current/savings account. :)

You can make multiple SBTs in the Egg intro period as long as your credit limit permits!

you can do as many BTs or SBTs as you like with Egg FOC in the inro period :)
  • Hi,

I am applying for an MBNA card to do a SBT. The application form has a section on financial situation which has the following details Card issuer, Credit limit and approx outstanding balance.

I don't have any outstanding balance on my credit cards. I have two credit cards Barclays and FD haing 6300 and 2100 credit limit.

I assume I should be saying that I have outstanding balances and listing fake balances else MBNA will not allow balance transafers correct?

Is it ok to say that I have outstanding balances when I don't have any.

I am sorry if this is stupid question but I though I should ask.

No, it isn't. Always tell them the truth, especially in writing.

MBNA will transfer most of your credit limit to your current account, so there is no need to lie.

If this facility (transfer to c/a) is not on the application form, just wait till you get your card and then ask.
  • Probably an easy answer, but can you experts tell me.
If I do a super balance transfer from my egg card (which I transfered the balance off last month because the 6 month 0% was up) is it charge free if I get that amount transfered before the monthly payment date?.

If I understand your post - no it isn't. If you are outside of your 0% intro offer you will be charged interest from the date of the transfer to the date you pay it back!

FAO Anyone with the 0% Virgin card

Just applied for the Virgin card. I wanted to do a SBT into my current account on application as advised on here but didn't get an option? I was only given the opportunity of transfering existing credit card balances? Do I have to wait until I get the card and contact Virgin then? :-/
This site has saved me a fortune :money: ...it's also cost me a fortune!

When you receive the "Virgin" card, you will be required to activate it via an 0800 telephone number. Just ask them to transfer a balance to your current account. Don't be shy about it, it is water off a ducks back to the operators. ;)

It cannot harm to clarify with them that there is no 2% handling fee when you do this. In my case I was told that since it was within the intro period that it was fee free.

    Enjoy.
