Ryanair add bag, but one-way only?

My father's coming over to me in Ireland next weekend (from England), just for the weekend. Anyway, I might want him to bring over a PC (the Medion Q6600 3GB PC Base Unit with Blu-Ray at £499 from Tesco;);)).

Ryanair charges £8 per pag if you book online. I've no problem paying that, but when I try to book it, it wants to charge me £16 - which I presume is for the outbound and inbound leg. Of course, the bag will only be carried on the outbound leg. So, how do I book the bag on just the outbound leg and not the return leg?

A return booking is already booked. I'm trying to add a bag to it.

Don't tell me there's no facility to book a bag on only the flight you want?
  • i think you are going to have to pay £16, if you turned up at the airport check in they will chage you that price one way

don't take my word for it because i have never done it, but thats how i understand it

im taking it for granted the computer will be carried as hand luggage, have you seen how the baggage handles haul hold luggage about

Cheers. So, pay double or get nothing. That's not like Ryanair.

Perhaps if you fax them, you might be able to get a refund.
  • thats the problem with ryanair, once you clicked to agree with the terms and conditions it gets expensive to put things right/change your mind

its probabaly cheaper to post you fathers clothes ahead of him arriving, or he takes very little except the pc

Nope, don't want to put anything right. I'm not crying because I didn't read their Ts & Cs either.

I simply want to pay them their £8 for a bag. I could have chosen to do this at the time of booking, or later. Makes no difference, as it's still £8, according to their Ts & Cs.

My issue is that I want to book a bag on the outbound flight only, and not the return. Ryanair's website, however, doesn't allow this (neither at the time of booking, nor later).
  • at the time of booking you could have made 2 one way flights and done it that way.

i agree its annoying, but thats ryanair, if you know the tricks, electron, online check in, 2 one way flights then you can save money.
