Funny enough, the "team leader" who took you out is now a owner close to becoming "organisational head", just because he tried!

    See for yourself :)
  • Yet another company taking advantage of people, paying less than the minimum wage Elysium in bold st liverpool. Anyone else been scammed here for sales and marketing jobs

My partner nearly fell for Elysium, he wasted £30 on train fare went out door to door on his 'Second Interview' got told he would be team leader in a matter of weeks!! Built his hopes up for not a god dam thing.. The paperwork they ask you to sign is a joke!! Wanting blood from a stone.. Thanks to them it's sent him right back down after he picked himself up, don't companies like these realise how hard it is to find a job!! I'm so angry and upset for him :(
  • How do,
I very nearly went to an interview with Elysium today but they were a bit suspicious. Firstly the woman on the phone was cagey when I asked about job spec's (there are 3 positions we're interviewing for) and pay (the pays vary between the positions) and then I found this thread along with the badly written email confirmation I decided to give it a miss. Has anybody been to an interview with these people or similar? Would you be willing to discuss the experience? I'm curious and considering putting together an article for local press / blogs to try and shed some light on these goings on.

    Cheers,
    Jim
  • Hi Jim,

My Partner went for the Interview and got the job. Then they told him it was self employed and he was liable for anything that went wrong. Too much stress with the public being involved, hey they got a half days work out of him though!! He's struggling to find a job as it is and then people like this build your hopes up!!

    Hi all,

A couple of years back I was looking for work and signed up with Reed, after which I was contacted by two of these so-called 'companies' in Leeds. The first one I went to gave me the same spiel - played it to look like they were unsure of taking me but because they were "impressed" with me on the day I shadowed someone (even though I did nothing), they were willing to offer me a position with tons of perks and pay.

What stopped me going any further was the claim that they had 10,000 or so employees around the country, and that each earned many tens of thousands of pounds a year. Upon doing the math, they would need an income of £210,000,000 solely to pay their staff. Their website was a single page. I rang them back and told them in plain language that their offer was (text removed by MSE Forum Team), and they should be ashamed of wasting the time of genuine jobseekers. I'm just glad I didn't sign anything. The second place I tried talked me through the exact same spiel. I didn't bother attending the day with the rep, and gave them the exact same bollocking.

    Here's the kicker...

My missus has just finished Uni and is looking for work. She signed up with a few online agencies, and lo and behold, the second company that attempted to fleece me a couple of years back got in touch offering her a receptionist position. Despite my many warnings, she attended the interview today.

Turns out the position is for a Sales Rep position - not only are they lying about the nature of the work they do, but they are also lying about the positions to get people in. I'm pretty sure this is illegal? Anyway, they now reside 2 floors above where I went, and gave her the exact same waffle about being a manager in 6 months etc etc. They said they would call her later today and invite her for a second interview.

I have warned her in the strongest possible terms of doing anything more with these scamming (text removed by MSE Forum Team).

Someone needs to make what these people are doing illegal.
  • I've been working for Jamie for just about two month now and got promoted to training manager after 6 weeks since I've been consistent with the sales. I for one made ok money so far even though the work's been hard. People need to think how could Jamie afford to rent a £2000 a month office if he really wasn't making money..

    Yes of course you did.:rotfl:

Is part of your job description posting crap on forums? Shouldn't you be out accosting OAPs in the local shopping centre?
  • I'm supposed to have an Interview with SRJ Marketing LTD in Manchester this afternoon. Needless to say after what I've been reading online about this 'company' and others like them, I won't be attending this 'Interview'.

Also, has anybody heard of 'Warwick Organisation' also based in Manchester? These are another Marketing company who I don't remember applying for a job with, who contacted me saying that they have an interview for me on tomorrow.
However when I asked them questions regarding pay, hours etc, they had a similar response to SRJ, saying all this would be explained during the Interview.

Seems like these companies are popping up like weeds, everywhere.

I recieved an email today from a [Removed], claiming to have tried to contact me recently as her company had seen my CV on Totaljobs.
The company she claims to work for is called Red Planet.
I googled the company and phone number simply because it freaked me out that Totaljobs have made my cv visible to employers (naive of me).

    redplanetmarketing.co.uk

On the website it says contracted to appco group.

I've been unemployed for 12 months, through no fault of my own, and not for lack of trying - and having been scammed once before via a leafletting job for a scam Environment/Home Improvement government funded company, im pretty careful nowadays so heads up! Also, the email was in a few different fonts so, that also raised my suspicions.

Below is the email in full, she even has a LinkedIn profile. And no, no one has 'recently' tried to contact me at all, so that's a lie! Is this definitely a scam?

"We recently tried to contact you with regards to our Sales and Customer Service opportunity that has become available.

We are an outsource Sales Organisation that are currently expanding, therefore we need to expand our team. To explain this in more detail, I have attached a document for you to read through to understand more about Red Planet and what we are actually recruiting for.
Basically what we are looking for is someone who has a customer service background and other transferable skills to bring to our Company. Having viewed your CV on Totaljobs you appear to be an ideal applicant.

We would like to arrange for you to come to our office to meet with the Manager on Tuesday 6th May between 1:30pm and 4:30pm in order to discuss this opportunity and get to know you further.
We do understand that this is quite short notice, but due to client demand we are looking for the successful candidate to start in the position as soon as possible.
If you feel this opportunity is something you would consider, please let me know either via e-mail or over the phone on 0151-236-8300 so we can arrange for you to meet with the Manager.
I look forward to hearing back from you.

    Kind Regards
