Using old 02 mobile with new 02 sim card

Hi

I've just finished a contract with 02 and still have a LG Shine which is in pretty good condition. There is an offer on one of the phone shop websites for a very cheap deal, again with 02 for a samsung phone (16 months free!), I was just hoping someone would be able to tell me if I take the new sim from this new contract and put it in my old 02 mobile will it work with that phone as its the same network? Would just prefer to use my old phone and this would mean I get another 18 months at a very cheap rate!

Thanks

  • Yes it should work. Phones are generally locked to a network - so you can use it on o2 without unlocking it. If you wanted to go to another network you would need to get the phone unlocked thou.

Just check the cashback terms as some say you have to keep the phone & sim together to qualify for cashback (although I'm not sure if this is just an empty threat by the companies...)
Wondering how to have a life & not rack up more debts...
