I am going to need a new card next month to BT about £12000 from my Cap One. Can anyone give any advice on which of the Loyds v HSBC card is likely to give the highest credit limit. Also how long are these two cards taking to arrive from the original application.
Thanks in advance for any information provided.

Regarding HSBC read HSBC 9 months 0% Xmas Offer thread. I am under impression that credit limits are quite low. In 10 days after online application my wife was contacted and told that the card had been dispatched.
She dos not have any information from Lloyds TSB after 10 days besides automatic e-mail after online application.

Cheers for that I guess it will be the Loyds card then. My Cap One runs out on 27th of Jan so I will apply for the Loyds card in the next week or two. Then I should be able to do the BT within the 6 week period allowed after the card arrives. :T
  • I was offerred a paultry 5.5k by HSBC, despite asking to BT a much larger amount on the application form. This is only the 3rd card I have (2 for stoozing, 1 for cashback), so it seems they're offerring very low limits on this card. Try Lloyds instead, I'd say.

There is no way of telling how big your credit limit with a provider will be as this depends on a number of factors, i.e. your credit score, available credit and salary etc.
