Total amount of airlines so far to go bust

I’ve heard rumours that the next airline on the list is Monarch Airlines!!!

Futura international are in financial difficulty and they did suspend flight for one day however futura international (for now) are not bust but are stuggling this has not been a good year for them.

Its such a shame if Futura international do,they they have been operating since 1989 and have been in no trouble until now. They are a fantastic airline with wonderfull commited employees, most which have worked for them for many years.

I've been looking for a few days now and for the life of me I can't find anything concrete about this. I can find plenty about Zoom and XL, but nothing on Futura

I did ring First Choice this morning to ask them, they rang me back and said they should have some more information within the next couple of days.

Where do you hear or read that?

That would be just our luck lol! We're flying out with Futura (or should I say, meant to be!) and coming back with Monarch.......eeeeeeek!!

We are flying to Paris with flybe in 4 weeks. Booked with debit card and just flights. Anyone suggest a good travel insurance to cover us should they go bust...

i see amssive tax rises soon, what with the banks, ongoing war on terror, etc..

And just to illustrate your point, I haven't heard of ANY of those who've gone bust - not even XL

Also worth remembering that many people have lost their jobs - a holiday is the least of their worries.

They just said on the news that 16 went bust last year.....this year already there have been 27 I think!

In the news articles its not stating wheather its Futura International or Futura Gael, they are two different airlines run by the same company.
Its not very clear in any of the reports.
