I have tried different brands of cocoa powder for baking and Green and Black's is the best brand I have tried (worth the extra pence and much better than Cadbury's even though it's now the same company). HTH."The happiest of people don't necessarily have the

I reduced the amount of sugar when I used drinking chocolate and it wasn't too sickly.I don't believe and I never did that two wrongs make a right0

I did this tonight and it was very nice. Just needs custard or ice cream.
It was not rubbery. In my 700w it took about 4 mins and I left it for about a min or so to cool.JeremyMarried 9th May 20090 -

just tried the microwave sponge mix (the proper one , not the rubber in a mug stuff) , put treacle in the bottom and its flipping lovely, a little bit 'eggy' cos i used my own free range chickens eggs and they are proper eggs if you know what i mean0

Just read this as I was thinking about what to have for pudding so had a go.
I was using green and blacks cocoa and my hen's eggs (and no choc chips).
3m 30sec in a 800w microwave and came out lovely - needs something with it - ice cream would be perfect but I had to make do with the dribble of cream I had left in the fridge.
Very rich and dense but not bad for a quick pud.
How about same recipe but with a spoon of golden syrup in the bottom of the mug - now that would be lovely.
Or a spoonful of rum/baileys/tia maria - don't have any in or I would have tried it.
Think this recipe really depends on the cocoa as there is so much of it in it. can imagine cheap cocoa would make it taste nasty.0 -
I fancy giving this a go. Is it best eaten straight away, or can I make it a few hours in advance to have cold, with hot custard? If I had a pound for every...... oh sod it, if I just had a pound I'd be richer!0

For all those who found this a bit too rubbery (has anyone solved this problem?) - Try this recipe http://www.instructables.com/id/Mug_Brownie/?comments=all#CNGBX0CFOHU2S1G Definately moist Brownie like texture.
