That's excellent "service" isn't it? :rotfl:
Not bad... So for me they transfered the rest of the balance (around £140) the same day and then I received a hand written (?) cheque for £100 after 8 days!
Oh well... got the £100 in the end so it doesn't really matter how!
Don't give up guys ... They are still paying out!0 -
I've been with First Direct about 16 years now, previously I'd tried them all, Barclays, Royal Bank of Scotland, TSB etc and they were all CR*P!!! FD are efficient, their operators are polite and helpful, write to them and they deal with things immediately and offer something good that you weren't expecting. To be quite honest it would take an awful lot more than £200 to make me leave. And just in case you're wondering I have a huge overdraft and no savings so they're not just being 'nice' because I'm worth it!!.0

I've only been with first direct for 2 months and I have to say they are excellent....they are very clear with their T&C's when you open accounts etc....I never known any bank (infact any company that i've dealt with) to be so helpful on the phone.
I will defo be talking to them when I go looking for a mortgage next year.If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly
I've only ever been wrong once! and that was when I thought I was wrong but I was right0 -
Have to chip in and agree with the last two posters. I've found FD's service excellent and, for me, £100 to leave just isn't worth it.An uneffected guitar sounds like a little girl crying. An uneffected bass sounds like an angry Rhino!0

When there is more than one typo, it is typos with no apostrophe... an apostrophe indicates possession
Or, an apostrophe indicates missing letters. In this case, the full noun would be perhaps "typographical errors" so in "typo's" the missing letters represented by the apostrophe are "graphical error".
In the same way that didn't, can't, wouldn't, won't, don't, would've etc are not indicating possession.0 -

I too agree i had £50 incentive for opening an account they were able to offer me a credit card immediatey even though i had bad credit in the past i have found that the customer service is excellent and would not consider leaving them and having to set up a new account - for the sake of £100 i have better things to do with my time2010 - Goals
1. on the long road to hopefully adopting a child - Home Visit 3 Feb 2010
2. Planning to clear my credit card debt.
3. lose weight.

I think you guys are missing the point a bit. This is MSE :money: site!
As I was really happy with the service I was receiving from current bank (HSBC) the only real reason why I opened my account with FD was to bank the £200. For the time it cost me; less than a couple of minutes to change my salary details and a phone call to activate my account a couple of phone calls to close it down, I think it was well worth it! Oh yeah, and the 7 monthly transfers of my salary to my HSBC account (under 5 minutes each time). So, I make that less than a hours work for £200!
To be honest with you FD customer service was A1! They were really polite, friendly and helpful (apart from locking both my phone and internet account which was procedural). So if I was unhappy with the service I have been receiving from HSBC I would have stayed with FD without a doubt!0 -
