It may be worth looking at specialised 3G high-gain antennas to improve reception of the mobile phone signal:

This could be combined with a 3G router to allow you to share the connection and use standard wifi locally:

Just out of curiosity what does this checker come back with?

It gives me about 6 different providers. However I know from failed attempts with BT in the past that we can not get broadband through our BT phone line due to there being alumunium in the line (according to the last BT engineer that visited).
We had an absolute nightmare last time with BT and I don't want to go through this again. They told us we could get BB but then it didn't work. They cancelled it and then sent is a bill for £250 cancellation charges (which we did get waived eventually) also we ended up loosing our original log on and had to start again with a 12 month dial up connection.
Thanks for the info though0 -
ISDN is really outdated and still so expensive for what you get though, even mobile broadband would be better for the OP but I dont see why they are against getting it as its their best option.
As I said in my original post both 3 and Orange mobile broadband don't work in the house. I would have to get in the car and drive 3 miles down the road to get a 3g signal.
Believe me I would love to get mobile broadband and will check out the other companies someone has kindly posted.0
