Prob a stupid question, but i've been charged approx £40 in charges by barclaycard (requesting statements as we speak).
But if i did have to take this claim to court the court fee would be £30 in itself, would this also be refunded by barclaycard because if not there seems little point...probably have missed a vital piece of information but any help much appreciated.0 -

Barclaycard would be liable for the cost if you were to win, so therefore, if and when they want to offer you an out of court settlement, they would have to take the court costs into consideration too.0 -
Hi all,
Are there any generic letters circulating anywhere (sorry if I've missed them) that would give me a good blueprint of what to write to MBNA? It'd be my first letter and I'm trying to claim black £125 of late/over-limit fees from them.
Thanks a lot,
Andy0 -

TPAOY wrote:Thanks for that idea. Have you then had individual refunds back from the bank? I'm with BoS (I know - part of the Halifax  ) so if they live up to the deplorable standards they now have, it will be an interesting challenge.
I'm currently in dispute with the BoS, but they're dealing with it by ignoring everything! I suspect that is the tactic employed by Halifax and BoS, ignore them and they might go away.
The BoS has gone down the stank since they were taken over by the Halifax.
Can I suggest you take a look at the Govan Law Centre site for specifically Scottish information:
http://www.govanlc.com/bankcharges.html
and also register yourself at the Bank Action Group.

I've previously posted the link to the Govan Law Centre which does give advice, but not specifically about values more than £750. If tackling them in bite sized steps is an acceptable way of doing this then I'll approach it in that fashion.
Yes, I totally agree about how the BoS has dropped to a level of disservice that totally beggars belief. How the individuals that work there can sleep at night with a clear conscience is beyond me - in particular, those that used to operate in the pre Halifax days.0 -
Has anyone tried claiming against catalogue company charges? It just occurred to me this evening that my old Littlewoods account (still open but not used) used to get loads of charges when we were going through a rough patch sorting out debt. Dunno if it's worth a pop at trying to get these refunded too. Anyone?Debts - [STRIKE]£9925.64[/STRIKE] £8841.88 :T Aiming to get below £9k by the end of Oct.

If they were levied as a penalty and were disproportionate, the yes, of course - the law is the same.0

so pleased to have found this website and this thread! (I know - where have I been?)
As a result of this I have totted up all the charges Abbey made to be last year - £432, the con artists - and duly written them a letter requesting it back!
I hope you are right, I could really do with the money coming back to me!!
