Bank Charges - illegal?

I have just received my bank charges back from the Natwest. All £38 of them.
I know it's my fault going overdrawn slightly (forgot about a new Direct Debit) but i appealed to them for a gesture of goodwill. This is the first time I have gone overdrawn in a few years so maybe they were just keeping me sweet?0 -

people should be aware money claim is actually cheaper to use than the old fashioned method of filling in paper forms and so on.0

Wow, I have just spent the last 5 and a half hours reading through this thread!! Thanks to all those who have taken the time to post their experiences.
It's certainly opened our eyes and we have decided to make claims to our old bank (Yorkshire Bank) and one of our visa companies (MBNA).
We closed our account with the Yorkshire Bank three years ago but still feel so angry with all the charges they threw at us ... usually an £8 per DAY fee for going over an overdraft limit PLUS monthly charges of around £25! I have drafted a letter tonight to send off requesting copies of last 6 years statements, aswell as those for the MBNA visa.
Just a quick question r.e. visa claims ... would a cash advance fee of 1.8735% per month be classed as disproportionate?:heart2: Tabs :heart2:
£2 Coin Savers Club ... Total so far: £32
20p Coin Savers Club ... Total so far: £17.60Savings Grand Total = £72.48 :TUpdated 6th May 2006:beer:0 -

For the information of anyone wanting to calculate the 8% APR on their claim, I have just uploaded an Excel spreadsheet that does thir for you in the Library section of the https://www.bankactiongroup.com forum.
I will update it sometime today to also work out the court costs.
Any suggestions/comments would be welcome.0 -

I requested statements from MBNA they wrote back asking for £10 to supply info. Sent this but still waiting for info.0 -
Thanks Pere!
I work in a Building Society and as part of my job, I have to respond to Data Subject Access Requests ... so I know to send the money up front to ensure no further "delays" are encountered!!!! Call it insider knowledge!!
Thank you for your advice though.:heart2: Tabs :heart2:

Although technically, this is a breach of the Sale of Goods Act (1979) - requesting that the 'goods' (in the occassion of financial 'products') be paid for before a consumer receives them.0
