A very light coating of vasaline before you lock it will help loads. It fills the tiny gaps which air can get throught.

That might work.........I found that spit doesn't !
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)
  • Spit fills the gaps but drys out and it falls off. Vasaline fills these gaps and stays solid.
Lets get this straight. Say my house is worth £100K, it drops £20K and I complain but I should not complain when I actually pay £200K via a mortgage:rolleyes:

I have just bought a selection of these so far fitted the toilet roll holder , the hook and towel ring , all stay on fine, I did not use any moisture just purely follwed the 'twisting ' instructions , they are stuck on solid. My new tiles are white glazed ceramic and that may be why, the new range of beige stone ones that are in fashion at the moment are very porous so will not grip, they have to be very shiny and flat. Not sure I would trust the shower one though with all the potions we have to go on one and all that weight, also they do rust, you need the chrome covered brass ones for showers really .

Those twist n lock things drove me completely nuts, I bought a lot of them and one by one they fell down after following all instructions. They are also meant to be re tightened every few weeks according to back of packets. I returned them to the shop and the lady said they were always coming back!!

I learned how to drill through a tile, bought a 10mm diamond drill bit and some masking tape to go over the tile before drilling and voila normal fixings that don't fall down!!

I bought a proper tile drill bit too, but wherever possible also drilled into the grout lines as you can't slip off. Apparently this can crack the tiles if you don't have a decent bit. They are expensive and my dad told me not to bother ... but even he was so impressed by how easy it was!

I bought two shower shelves for my two showers. They always collapse, one having damaged a shower tray. I must have put them back up 10 times.

Does anyone know any tips on how to make these shelves stay up in the shower?? I keep trying different things, but randomly it will fall down (sometimes will stay up 10 mins, sometimes 4 months).

    It is really annoying!!
We gave up on ours because of exactly the same problem. Ended up giving it to charity shop and bought telescopic shower tidy the does the job well and is hassle free.

Being an ex B&Q employee I can tell you that there rubbish. We ended up just letting people return them no questions asked.
