  • Hi all ,
new to this so apologies for typo's etc,
I used to work for Bos and then Hbos and my advice to you would be to write back re explaining your hardship and what the total sum was then a middle man sum say £900-1000 this way you win and they win (kind off )

Hbos get scared when you kindly threaten them with the ombudsman and small claim courts but you have to be kind about it a subtle hint ,if you threaten then or are irate or nasty then they will allow you to take them to court and get their lawyers on it -silly i know .

But a middleman offer will leave them feeling as if they have won in a way -treat them as a school yard bully and youll get what you want .

    Good Luck x

thank you so much for your responses.

taking your advice lillyandlolas i have just written a letter saying that if we could come to an agreement somewhere around the sum of 1100.00 (this would pay off the debt recovery agency that the bank passed my account to when i got in a mess with charges in the first place) then i would consider the matter closed and that i would like to resolve this matter without the involvement of the financial ombudsman etc.

quick update - my partner has posted the acceptance form for the £515.00 by accident!! what do i do now?! should i write somewhere in the letter that they should disregard this? doesn't really help my case for getting any more out of them!!!

thanks again for your help! i really appreciate it
