    Your boss is an !!!

Good job you have your bf there to help and support you. You both need to get your rest as well so as you can best care for the patient.

Glad shes getting on her feet

  • , my boss even pointed out, they don't last forever you know.

Well duh! He's obviously the sharpest knife in the draw isn't he. :D

The point is that whilst they are here you do the very, very best for them that you can - which is what you are doing.

It's good to hear she's doing so well. Wishing her better soon. :)

Poor man, he will never know how it feels to be greeted as if you've been gone for days when you only popped out for 5 mins...... I feel sorry for him.

Sounds like she's recovering well, keeping everything crossed for her.
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.
  • She went for her check up this morning and the results from the tumour are back. Its Cancer. Don't know much about doggy cancer, didn't really ask the ? that we need answers for. Surgery was 30 mins late and Floyd wanted to make a hasty exit so we did after check. They couldn't say if it'd spread, even though I'd have thought that would be just the thing the blood tests would be able to show. Back Thursday for stitches out armed with a long list of questions.
As for my boss, she has a dog, albeit a handbag dog named after her favorite perfume, she clearly doesn't give a s hit about it though with the time she leaves it alone..quite pity it really.
Anyhoo, my old lady is coming on canny, eating and drinking well, getting about well, really wanting to go on long walks, but not yet, little often strolls for now. thank you.x
RIP Floyd - 19/04/09. I know i'll see you again my best friend forever.

  • so sorry to hear it is cancerous. I am glad your old girl seems well in herself and sure she is much happier without the itch and discomfort, and that is the main thing.
Good luck on thursday, I am sure you will be in a much better position to ask questions when ou have had chance to prepare yourself and think it over.
  • I think if it is cancer it can spread to the lungs. In which case you would have to listen for any signs it is starting there.

It could have spread to anywhere though, same for all our dogs. Hopefully she is a lot more comfortable with the tumour gone and you have many happy healthy years ahead.

One of mine had a huge mammary strip. I specifically turned down the cancer testing because what can you do? Nothing.
The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.
  • Oh flip! :( Sorry about the results. But you've really improved the quality of the rest of her life meanwhile. Give her a gentle hug and a tickle behind the ears from Aunty PW.

So sorry to hear your girlie is battling cancer - but there is cancer and there is cancer, so are invasive, and some aren't. If it has spread to her lungs she may go down hill quite quickly, becoming short of breath and unable to walk more than a little way. She may also loose stomach capacity, making it hard for her to hold down more than a small meal, but this can be over come by feeding more frequently.Above all, you know your own dog. I hope she has many more months, if not years in your care.
