He said it twice, because i questioned him about it, and he said it may be that they owe me more money. I said that more money would be lovely, but as nothing has changed, not even my bank account details, i would far rather I was just given what was owing to me.

If it is going to take 2-3 days, that would be fine, but why say to people that when it gat paid, you will get any back payments???? that really freaked me, so I asked whether it could take more than a week, or a month......sorry we can't tell you how long it will take??????

Surely they could be allowed to say " the money should be paid into your account within the next few weeks"!!!!!

It would cause so much less stress.
  • I know how frustrating it is regarding timescales.

TCO/HMRC theory is that giving an incorrect timescale can generate complaints.

If you were told that your payments would be in your bank within a few days but it took a fortnight, the adviser would be seen as giving you factually incorrect information and would be subject to a complaint.

If they dont give a timescale they assume nobody will complain about an incorrect timescale.

The reality of it is that people will call back one, twice, three times a day trying to check the progress of something. Or even complain about not getting a timescale!
