CTC not paid

I have just checked my bank statement online (fortunately) and found that my CTC has not been paid in, and should have gone in on the 1st September.
.
I phoned CTC and after the person i spoke to put me on hold, he came back and said the payment had been rejected by my bank? Same account details, absolutely no change whatsoever? CTC have the correct account details on their system as well?
Of course, my childcare payment has already gone out of my bank account, and I have hardly anything in my account to survive for the rest of the month, let alone put petrol in my car in order to carry out my job.
I asked what would happen now, and they said they will lift the "suspension"??, and will try to pay it again.........but they don't know when?? I have phoned my bank, and they have stated that there is no way that they would reject a payment into the account, especially as it has been an ongoing payment for the past however many years!! So, now I don't know whether it will be paid soon or not, nor do i know whether it will be "rejected" somewhere along the line again?
They can't give me a date on when it will be resent, so I can keep a look out for it, and chase it up. They don't let you know if tere is a problem with paying you, they just suspend it!
Does anyone have any idea of how long it will take them to make a payment into my account? Or do I have to "keep in contact" with them on a daily basis?
Thanks

you can check your bank online daily or call them to see if they can see anything going in the following day. i would of thought if theyre resending the payment today it would take 4 working days to reach your bank account at the most, otherwise could you ask them to send you a giro just for this payment?0

thanks. No point in checking my bank daily, because they have no record of the last payment that was "attempted" and "rejected", so nothing will show up if the same happens this time. It is only HMRC who can tell me that, and they have no idea of when the payment will be resent.0

Is your account with Abbey? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Yes, it is with Abbey.........0

This seems to be an ongoing problem with Abbey - have noticed this quite a bit recently.0
-
So Abbey ARE refusing to accept payments? They have denied this, but if it is happening alot, then tax credits should have explained this, and Abbey should be aware of it?
All you get is cloak and dagger answers as to when the tax credit will be paid again......0 -
Has anyone got any more info regarding the Abbey? I have phoned the tax credits again today, only to be told the suspension on my claim has been lifted and that the claim needs to be recalculated (?????). NOTHING has changed, so I can't see why there is a hold up, but I can't get any clear information from CTC.
Thanks0 -
This happened on my 1st Aug payment and I am NOT with Abbey.
It took 3 weeks of chasing to get some money - in the end I had to change the account the money was paid into, after being promised giros that never turned up and no helpful time scales.
There have been several threads about the same thing recently, so there has to be a problem somewhere along the line.0 -
Thanks for that info, I appreciate it. I get so annoyed, because there is obviously something going on, but they don't let any info out. I feel sorry for the call centre staff, but if there is a problem, someone higher up should keep them informed!
If I need a new bank account, I would rather get it sorted out now.......I need the money to survive, but they just don't seem to find any significance in that fact.0 -

The wording used was wrong, the adviser meant to say re-scheduled not re-calculated.
TCO do not give out timescales for this so none should be given by the adviser. However, it usually only takes 2-3 days. If it takes any longer you may need to give new bank details or be paid manually by giro.0
