Avon Hints and Tips (Part 2)

I only started Avon on campaign 9 and I am waiting for my sales leader to pop round today with my campaign 10 brochures but to be honest I cant see this working for me.
Campaign 9 - Out of 40 catalogues, I only got 10 back and all with no orders. My friends ordered £35 worth of stuff so by the time they added my first £7.50 payment and a 55p charge for a 1 off campaign 11 catalogue it has cot me £8.05 this month
My whole road which is very long apparently has an Avon rep assigned to it although I have lived here 7 years and never had a catalogue and some of my neighbours have lived there 15 years and have never had a catalogue dropped off which is really frustrating as I think I could get some orders along my road.

Perhaps if you give cats to the neighbours that never get one? Are you knocking on the doors of people that don't leave them out - I leave a note through their door and then they leave it out for me0

Thats what I thought but to be honest my friends range from one end of the street to the other so I would be encroaching on someone elses territory.
Yep I have called back to the houses and dropped notes in but nothing :rolleyes:I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. Maybe ask for more territory, and if your mates never get cats no one will know you are going on someone's territory and as soon as they do get a cat, you should stop, but that seems unlikely...0

You are always allowed to do them as friends and family, even if the road they live on is allocated to somebody else.
The first 2 campaigns are the worst, you need to build the trust and prove your reliability as sadly too many reps give it one go and then give up.:jAvon Rep since C18 2008 (Sales Leader since C7 2009) and Usborne Rep since March 2008:j0 -

That is frustrating. Especially when you dont get your books back as you cant take them elsewhere.
I know when ive done avon before i always got allocated the worst ever streets, and my heart used to sink. I knew there was no point in even delivering the books. So i had to think outside of the box.
Could you not try, schools, nurseries, playgroups, creche's, karate clubs, sports clubs, nursing home's, doctors, dentists, garages's where cars get serviced, cafe's etc anywhere wherre groups of people meet up or sit and wait. Drop of a brochure or 2 with a few order forms in and say you'll go back in a few days.
Also put in half a dozen A5 slips with your details on of how to request their own brochure as sometimes people only have enough time to look and not order but that time looking has got their interest. They also dont like to take the brochure away from wherever it has been left.
Its all leg work and the worse they can say is ''no thanks''.
I'm gonna pop a few on the table at the doctors surgery later today. Will be nice to see an upto date magazine on their tables.
I also put some A4 leaflets up in shop notice boards and windows. I always ask the manager / shop owner if its ok and quite often they will ask you to leave a book or 2 as well.
You need to put yourself out there, thats the only way people will know your there. If they dont know your there, they cant order.
You can do it you've just had a bad time, which is more than enough to put anyone off. But we will all get them, you've just had yours right at the beginning:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T

sarah, glad you ventured over here. Everyone here is really friendly and really try and motivate eachother when things aren't going too well. I hope you do decide to give it a go, you will be surprised how much your orders can build up. I was sitting at £75 2 days ago and now I am at £218. Hopefully you wil get loads of tips on here.Avon Rep

Woo-hoo :j
Just placed my C10 order (early as I'm away next week) and the final total was £444 + brochures, demos etc. I'm really chuffed with that as I'd expected to do naff-all on such a short campaign.

Well done Elliebee:T That's a great total at any time. I really hope I reach that, it just seems to be going really slow at the moment. Going anywhere nice?Avon Rep

Question - how is the deal of the day Skin so Soft bonus bag possible when there's no SSS products in it? Getting quite fed up with Avon's special offers being absolutely pants.... They seem to stockpile all the carp that doesn't sell from previous brochures to flog on to us.
Sorry, not having a good 'Avon' day today.....
