I started my first campaign, C9, yesterday. Between a few friends i'm over the £78 MOV, I've got til mon to do the order, do you think it's worth me dropping off cats to a few houses? I told my SL that since I only had til mon i didn't want a territory sorted out til C10 but I could phone her for a street or 2 right? I've got about 15 that havent even been touched so i'm thinking it would be a waste not to...0

You could put the cats out and collect Friday, getting the last few stragglers over the weekend, it gets you out there, testing how it works I suppose without being chucked in the deep end with 100's of houses!0

Just a quick question to the people that work full time and do Avon. How many houses are in your territory? How do you fit it into your life - do you go in the evenings, as soon as you're in from work? etc?
I have about 300 houses in my territory, though now I've done a few campaigns there's probably only about 150 houses that get a book and that will soon go down again to just the people who have ordered at some point I think. I find it fits in quite well, but I work shifts: one week I am home by 4pm so can do some then, and the other week I don't leave until 1pm so can do some in the mornings. Plus OH is fantastic and if his days off fall during the week then he does all the delivering/collecting of catalogues to give us time together.
Once you get the hang of it, it doesn't take as long as you might think, especially once people are used to having a rep and leaving the books out on the right day lol! If you are given a large territory, you don't necessarily need to go to every house on your first campaign you could gradually build up on how many houses you go to to make it more manageable. hthAvon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
Hmm had about 20 orders so far and not one for the watch i thought it would be really popular, anyone else finding the same ?
Only sold 2 watches so far!!! And got most of my orders in from territory, some to come from family/work still. Lots of people have spent enough on make-up mind you, even people that don't normally! Bizarre - I thought that it would be really popular!!! Still, means I can buy myself one without needing to buy any make-up, and have managed to back-order quite a bit of make-up to getting it much cheaper in C8!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
I couldn't do much creative ordering, which was a shame!! Someone ordered from C8 and it was cheaper in C9, but one woman ordered some men's moisturiser and it was meant to be £4.50 or something but she read the saving of £3.95 and put £3.95 on her order, luckily in C9 it's that price so I will let her off this time, as if I say it was the other price and she sees it in C9 reduced she might think I am scamming her!0

Funnily enough I've had 2 people put the saving price rather than the actual price! Both from C9 books. Had to ring them up and point it out to them, as it was a pound difference in both cases!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

I often think it would be better to go later in the evening, but once I am at home I like to relax, especially after dinner. So I normally come home and grab my stuff and go. I was given 180 houses to begin with but have asked for more so have been given another 180. I have managed to whittle down my initial territory to about 100 houses and this will get lower no doubt, over the next few campaigns. I have no idea how I will manage my new territory just now, but I am trying to work out a schedule at the moment. I also regularly deliver and collect cats on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
I have been delivering my orders on the weekend or in the evening (about 7pm-8pm) as I find that is the best time to catch people in.
I was going to give myself a week off from Avon when I place my order, but I think I need to break this new territory so may concentrate on them only for that week, or at least try and get half of it covered.
I must admit that it is not as easy to fit all this in as I first thought:rolleyes: but the extra money will come in handy.
What does everyone else do?
I do exactly the same - I deliver some brochures with the order, the others in the week and collect on Sat (and again on Sunday for those who forget to put the book out). I only been doing Avon for almost a year now and I only have about 20 customers in total. I have been given more territory but I have found it difficult to find the time to start with it but planning to next campaign but I don't make much money at all but its something I enjoy doing and I usually manage to order enough bits for myself for free.Leo James arrived 7 days late on 26th August 2011 by emergency CS :j Such a cheeky chappy now :T0 -

I had a lady do this two campaigns in a row. The first time, I let it go coz she is a good customer and it wasn't much. The second time I would have been about £12 out of of pocket so I called her to explain. She was nice about it tho.
I also found that the watch didn't sell as well as I expected - just 3 (and one was for me:rotfl:).Leo James arrived 7 days late on 26th August 2011 by emergency CS :j Such a cheeky chappy now :T0 -
I made it sound better by saying "don't worry my Mum has done the exact same thing" not that she has mind you but they aren't too know thatAvon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

I am a bit disappointed at the moment, was given 98 houses to cover but last campaign I trudged about in the rain delivering and collecting brochures from one half of my territory only to be told it was already covered by someone. I emailed my SL to clarify things but she still hasn't got back to me, that was a week ago.
So now trying to make most of the other half of my houses with a perfume promotion and a spend £15 get a free gift.
Does anyone know if I order fragrance samples is it possible to return them if I dont use them.0
