Have you tried putting books in local hairdressers, asking your friends/family if they would take a book into their work places or ask their friends if they would like a book, send OH in work with a book, take one into your workplace if you work, take to childrens/nephew/neices school perhaps???Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

I agree, if she was a rep herself I wouldn't have considered bringing in catalogues, I just would have canvassed territory instead. I have thought about this a lot and tried to look at this from a different point of view. For example if my mum did Avon and I took a book in for her to my work and one of my colleagues started up Avon, I would just tell my mum that one of my colleagues has started Avon and it was a good run while it lasted:rotfl:
I don't see why she should be offended as she is not the rep, it's the same if other businesses that I have canvassed have staff that take it up. I would completely understand that they would order from them rather than me. The thing is, I was originally going to ask her permission before I did it, but I thought that was a bit silly. I even spoke to loads of my colleagues about it before I signed up.
See I have a territory but so far it seems to be a bit of a wash out. Most people aren't interested it seems. I have just put out another 40 and still have over half to do (90 houses or so) but I have been very surprised by the amount of people that have ticked the box to say they want to be removed from my delivery list. I considered not doing this for my first campaign, but to be honest would rather deliver to people that are interested and might buy. I just hope that the 40 I have dropped off today prove to be better.
Okay so now on to my own order. I normally buy my make up from Boots and use either No7 or Revlon. As I am now a rep it makes sense to order my make up from Avon. So I currently wear No7 Stay Perfect Foundation in Almond. Which Avon foundation would be similar to this, type and colour? I like a decent coverage so am thinking Ideal Shade Natural Liquid Foundation as it's buildable. I am also going to try the Avon Magix.
Mascara I normally buy Loreal Volume Shocking, the one with the white and black wand. I really like thick lashes. I am thinking the Super Full Midnight as the brush looks quite similar. What do you think?
Eyshadows and lipstick should be quite simple. I tend to stick to glossy lips, quite neutral and eyshadows tend to be browns and golds.
I have a question regarding the free pamper treat in C8, I noticed it states if you buy a full size perfume on pages 80-83 you get this free. What on earth is a pamper treat?
Okay I'm exhausted after having talked so much so about to get the dinner on!Avon Rep

Well OH has taken most of our books to territory today, delivered a couple of family orders, and one at work this morning - but we aren't taking the rest until Friday as that is the only time we are together for long enough this week! Will be cutting it fine for paying the balance but hopefully will manage it in time.
More hopeful for this campaign, there seems lots of better offers in C8 than there was in C7! Fingers crossed - how are other people doing on C8 so far? Had a flick through C9 and it looks great, really like the watch, and think the hair product offers are really good, definately going to be getting myself some of the big bottles of shampoo at buy one get one for 50p!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
lozza1985 - How on earth do you manage to get such great order values? Is it mainly friends and family/door to door etc? I would love to get values like that but I'm not sure if it's possible:rolleyes:Avon Rep

It means get a shower gel or body lotion free - took me a good while to work it out!!! I highly doubt customers would know, but I haven't sold any of the more expensive perfumes yet so hasn't been a problem!:rotfl:Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -

Thanks! It does help that I have a large territory of about 300 houses, of which a lot of people order which is very lucky! I also have orders from my Mum, 2 people at her work, my sister & a couple of her neighbours, 3 people at my work & one colleagues wife as I sent him home with a book lol, MIL, Gran-in law lol & her sister! I'd say this time it was about £200 was from family etc and the rest from territory.
With regards to your territory - yes a lot of people have said that they don't want a book - BUT, it does mean that at least you know you don't have to waste time & buying books on houses that won't order and can concentrate on those that are interested. Might be worth being cheeky and asking for more territory if you wanted - if you don't ask you don't get!:TAvon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -

Okay I'm exhausted after having talked so much so about to get the dinner on!
In my office there are loads of Avon ladies, I started last year and a few people who already ordered off another rep started ordering off me. I think it's cos they know me and therefore don't get embarassed about ordered cellulite cream and bras :rotfl: so I'd just tell people you're doing Avon and give them the choice. If they want a book, they'll say so.
I have tried a few of the foundations from Avon and personally I find the Anew one the best but that's cos I'm very pale and even the lightest shades of some of the others are too dark. My friend orders the Personal Match liquid foundation in Almond though.
The pamper treats are the shower gels etc that come in the scent of the perfume. So if you order U by Ungaro you can choose a shower gel worth £5 for free etc.
Don't worry about people not wanting books delivered, it saves you time in the long run and you can concentrate on those that do want an Avon brochure. Out of 130ish new houses I delivered to in C7 I had 11 orders and about 4 people say they were interest but not ordering this time. I didn't give the option of no more deliveries but will be doing that soon myself and I'm sure I'll get a lot of declines as most books hadn't been looked at xxxSmall business owner 🧵 Ex MSE comper 🏆 Student loan repayer 💴 Romanian dog rescuer 🐕 Hopefully a cost of living survivor 🤞🏻0 -
I think I'm going to wait until C9 ends and if I still have a lot of people not interested then I will ask for more territory. There are loads of side streets that go off mine and I am sure these can't all be covered. If not there is a road that runs parrallel to mine that I might ask for:j
I wish they had made the pamper treats clearer, it should just state shower gel or body scrub or something. Not brilliant considering the price of the perfume.Avon Rep
