Hi I'm new to avon just completed my first campaign, and was thinking about doing parties. Has anyone got any experience of parties or handy hints they could give me ?

I would advise you to maybe have a handy amount of avon makeup products, and also a friend who is good at make-up to help you show the products.
Have plenty of samples to allow people to try all the testers and smell the products, maybe easier to use the scented pages in the catalogues ( if they are still scented ) and use face creams offer facials and manicures etc.
make it into a girly pamper night.
and also keep alcohol limited if possible as when folk are drunk they tend to order loads and then either say send it back I can't afford it or ignore you when the order comes so you need to send it back.
I am personally too self conscious to do parties :o but good luck to you if you can do it.
I know one of my friends made it a double treat when she done her years ago, she booked a fortune teller that night too and showed her products while people where waiting to see the fortune teller might be worth thinking about something similar.

    Hi Mez and welcome

I've never done a party myself, but there is a short article on the website. Go into 'news' > 'parties mean sales'

Hope that helps, and good luck

It is starting to annoy me

you give customers sales brochures and then loads of the stuff is out of stock.
I had one woman order, 8 things and she only got 5
(she is a fussy customer too so replacements rarely work with her either )
think I am going to hold back the sales brochures.

The rest of my stuff was fine this month though and have made a few extras. One was a girl ordered stuff and forgot to put her free eyeliner ( so I added it and give it to her ) and also ordered the anew treat bag which cost me 50p, and gives me another few gifts to add to my collection.

not had any probs with things out of stock from the sales booklet yet ( order into tomorro) but last campaign i was sent an alternative to nail top and base coat ( clear nail varnish!) and magix had to be sent separately cos it wasn't in stock.the box was sent in a jiffy bag and it looked like somebody had stood on it before posting it.rang avon last week (HQ) after ringing and speaking to india twice and getting nowhere re the T&B coat-it's showing as out of stock or summat like that again.the last muppet over there told me that the clear nail varnish was actually T&B coat in different packaging.i was told that the situation wasn't acceptable and i've a woman ringing me back today about it.they're lovely over in india but can only deal with certain things re your account.product availability isn't one of those things.when did CS for reps change to india?

does anybody know what samples i'll get in the LOA level 2 pack please? i got over £250 in C 1 and 2 so will get some :D

it bugs me so much when does clear nail varnish become a top&base coat? because they are both clear !!!

Samples for C1&2 I can't remember what I got think it might have been 10 perfume and 5 bath samples, 10 cream samples.
but was so long ago I do forget.

I tend not to put out the sale leaflets to my 'back order' area, as they are getting a bit old by then ;) I'm also not putting out the recession-busting leaflet with C8 at all, as some of the prices are different to those in the brochure and I think it's very confusing for customers (nothing to do with wanting to do 'creative ordering'............honest guv! :p)

The talk of samples reminds me - does anyone know when we will get our promised samples for reaching targets in C6 (when you had to email a tip to get a promised selection of samples)?

  • Well I'm hoping I hear from my SL today as I really need some more catalogues. I am anxious to do the rest of my territory to get it out of the way. I need more sales, I definitely think I will hit my target for the 25% commission but to get the Lv 2 Award I need sales of £250, I can't see that happening at the moment unless I get more customers from my territory. Am I right in thinking that orders from Hello Tommorow count towards your sales even though you don't get commission on them?
    Avon Rep

    C8 - £417.09, C9 - £613.14:jC10 - £378.18
    C11 - £301.72, C12 - £284.92, C13 - £220.14,
    C14 - £194.36, C15 - £300.91

I am taking the sales brochure from 8 out too, But I don't do backordering unless it is late, those were current sales brochures.
Going to leave them out and see how I get on. May add them again further down the line ;)
