Of course, this weeks deadline is for income earned in the tax year to the 5th April 2008 isn't it (is that right?). So any tax due on income she's earned since summer last year till April 5th this year will go on next years tax return (which can be paid in installments if it's done by October if I remember rightly?). Panic over then, still doesn't change the fact she needs to register as self employed though. Is she likely to be penalised for not having done that sooner?

Yes panic over. I don't know if there i a fine or anything for not registering in the 3 months. I think once registered you can start paying installments in advance so you don't end up with a lump sum in January. These are usually based on previous years return so i don't know how they work out installments for first year. I think you can do it all online. I found the site quite easy to understand but then my return was very simple. www.hmrc.gov.uk. I'm not sure all avon reps register but i didnt want to take the risk, and it is little effort in comparison to the hassle it could cause by not.

My lowest commission was £56 and that was on my first campaign C15 last year, I only had one road then.

My highest commission was £226 in C18 last year.

Wow thats a huge amount! I'd be happy with £56 at the minute lol!

I'm soooooooooooo happy though, I've found out my streets and I have 118 houses :D:D:D So I will be able to hit my minimum order, if not the higher £148 with ease including my family orders - just so pleased it's finally sorted out!

Bear with me ladies, I've had a crap day. My LO has chickenpox and my husband is away. And then I log on to find an email from my AM.

I know she has a job to do but I don't like feeling pressured into getting out there and banging on doors to get orders. People will order if they want to. But she always sounds quite threatening. If you don't put an order in, you will get your roads taken off you. Ok, thats fair enough but does she really have to scare me into canvassing.

I'm bricking it now as I'm about to send her an email to say that I am not putting in an order due to the pox!

    Wish me luck!

The wifes got an invite for one of the PC dinners, can you bring someone along as she wants to take a friend and dosent want to go alone :o

Hi Deanos. The PC dinner is just for reps. Tell your wife not to worry about it being her first time. She won't be the only one, and will soon start chatting to others. Has she been on the PC forum on the Avon website and asked on there if there's anyone else going from your area?

Sorry to hear that Lopez:( I don't like the bullying tactics some AM's use just to get their quota of orders each campaign.

Having said that, it may be easier to just order an item from you HT mag. Even if it's just order forms!
Hope you're LO is feeling better soon. Chickenpox is no fun :(

    OMG OMG OMG

I can't believe it. My order was delivered to someone else as I was out. We picked it up and brought it home. One of the boxes felt really light and guess what!!! It had nothing in it!!! Still sealed and everything. So I printed off my invoice as no invoices in any of the boxes and checked what was in the other boxes. Guess what??? There are 48 items missing!!!!! I have contacted Avon and they said they will do an investigation as the boxes are weighed before they leave. The sticker on the side of the box says 39 pcs but there is absolutely nothing in it, not even a piece of paper. How can this happen??? I am in total shock.

OMG!!! I know the people you left it with are probably very honest (especially if they are family or close friends, it doesn't say who they were left with so please don't take any offence!), but did they maybe undo the boxes and re-seal them carefully??? If not Avon must have rubbish scales to weigh the boxes and manage to send them out empty!!!!

Hope you get it sorted soon!:o

    Hi Lozza

I don't even know the people they were left with. I had a phone call from Avon this afternoon to say where my order had been left and it was at another reps house not too far away from me. They had the boxes piled up near their front door ready for me to collect. Also online it says I have 4 boxes but when I phoned Avon to tell them about all the missing items they asked how many boxes there was. There was 3 boxes with items in and 1 box of books so they said yes that is 4 boxes so is right. I don't know if it was significant but they asked which number the empty box was, so I said box 1 and they asked if there was an invoice in it, which there wasn't. I am supposed to be delivering my orders tomorrow night but Avon has said it will take a couple of days for the investigation and they will get back to me. So now I am going to have to explain to my customers what has happened. I hope this doesn't affect them ordering from me again. I have also called my am to get back to me asap as it is urgent. I don't know what to do now.

Noticed one of the houses on my route had new occupants so put a brochure through, called back to pick it up and got an order :T thought I recognised the girl who gave it to me and realised when I looked at her name on the order form that it's the girl who used to live in a different house on my route, ordered off me before xmas and never paid for it

Contacted ASM last week about new territory and STILL no reply although I have had 2 general emails off her (sent to all reps) about placing C3 orders, so she's obviously still around
