just read in Ht5 that from c6 all thre brochures will be "magazine style" with a hard spine or something after the success of c15 and c17 last year.

I'm guessing that means they are adopting the c17 style? I wasnt a rep for c15 so not sure what it looked like.

On one hand i think that its fab as they looked so much better and modern than the "normal" books... but i just spent money buying another 100 bags to fit the normal books which now wont be any good in 3 campaigns time!

Oh and they are putting the prices of brochures to reflect the change..... !!!

This is on top of the fact i noticed in my C3 books the prices of a few products has really increased.. i think the anew eyelift has gone up to £17 now instead of £15.50 to name just one example. Everywhere else is putting prices down, and AVON are increasing them! I can see my customers being unhappy about it cos its not like its 10p or something!

Hmm! A bit sneaky, the price rise isn't it

The C15 brochure was normal size but with a hard spine. Nothing to write home about really, and if it costs more to do it then I'm not at all sure it will be cost effective

I buy my bags from an internet company and they are 8" x 11" so just about fit both the normal and the larger books.

well done minigirl! I only made my £250 target on C2 because i needed about £50 worth of stuff and my OH spent £40 too! :o:o:o

re the brochure prices reading it with fresh eyes its not too bad at all if you buy a few packs::o :o

Current prices are in black new prices in red.

Pack(s) No. of brochures Cost each Total
    1 5 brochures 59.4p/63p £2.97 /£3.15
    2 10 brochures 40.6p/42p £4.06/£4.22
    3 15 brochures 31.7p/32.4p £4.76/£4.86

Additional packs will stay same price of 48p if i read it right. So if you buy more than 3 packs it will only be a 10p increase i think?!!

I really cant get my head round my avon stuff at the min.. part of me has no motivation.... think its the cold and the fact i have not been well... plus im on a bit of a downer as i started on C17 so now my C2 sales look dismal in comparison.. because of course my first 3 campaigns where christmas shopping!!!
  • Johanne I know how you feel. My first 2 campagins were £500 and £750 and have struggled on my last 2 campaigns to get the £250 so I can get my incentives. Hopefully things will start improving. Im hoping the credit crunch wont bite too much.
  • Hi Minigirl762003,

Would you mind me asking how you managed such great sales figures ? I have just taken over an area and am on my 2nd campaign - 1st one I did £194 and this one due in on the 5th I have just scrapped in with £68. I usually order 20 books and try and get them out at least 4 or 5 times in the times between campaigns and then re-use the last 20 from the previous campaign. Not sure if it is my area that is not good or there is something else that I could be doing ??

I put a newsletter into each one and this time have even stapled a teabag as per a previous note that I found on here - will collect the books in again tomorrow and am hoping for more luck but I do get dis heartened when no-one orders.... Not sure if I should order more books and canvass a bigger area ?

Any help for my flagging spirits would be welcome
    Thanks
  • Hi Salsaaddict

Been really lucky. I have a large extended family who all got excited and I got quite big orders from them. Then with my second campaign I had one order from my estate for £97 on its own. I have just taken over some more roads so got another 130 houses but its a bit slow with them.

My first campaign I did 'spend £20 and get a free gift' my SL gave me the free gifts which helped (everyone likes a freebie)

All I can say is be relaible, some of my customers didnt order till 2nd or 3rd campaign.

I also found this forum and one of the others I go on a wealth of info and advice.

    Hope this helps.

i only put my c2 out to only people who had ever ordered before as it fell over xmas and doesnt get delivered till tuesday... i thought ok... no time wasters... sale book...should do OK at least.....then quickly realised i was wrong when some of my customers who had ordered every other time didnt place an order and avoided conversation like usual.

I even went to the extent of making and printing out a full colour "EXCLUSIVE UP TO 25% OFF BROCHURE PRICES ON SELECTED PRODUCTS" flyer to put in with the books instead of my usual newsletter with a huge list of items i had in stock (thanks to the £50 anniversary pack  ) or stuff I could back order to make a 25% discount. Not one person ordered anything from it.....

My MIL didnt even LOOK at the brochure, or pass it to SIL or her neighbour like usual! :( She just handed me the 3 brochures back the day after i gave them to her and said she didnt have time to look at them or the money :(

I'm really worried the "credit crunch"/recession WILL hit us... specially as I said some the brochure prices have gone up in C3... i know my mum has stocked up on one item this book as i naughtily warned her it would be going up in future campaigns! :o:o:o Shes my mum afterall... and she helps me with my round or babysits for me when my OH is working so cant mind the baby.

I hope i can make campaign 5 onwards more successful... when were back on 3 week campaigns! More time to trek the streets in the freezing cold... good job my daughter got lots of warm clothes as presents for christmas!!! :o

    Hello Everyone:hello:

New to this thread, have got some good tips from you all already.:T

I am VERY demotivated with Avon and have been for a while hopefully this thread will spur me back on as I know it is possible to get some good earnings.
When first baby ever arrives (I am 9 days overdue!) I hope to go back to doing Avon properly for some extra cash but for the minute I am just placing an order to keep my account open.
