Avon Hints and Tips (Part 2)

HI MissL2
I know a bit how you feel - I am on my 3rd campaign and 1st and 2nd Campaign didnt even get enough sales to get any commission so was thinking mmmmm - is this worth it ? I also had bought stuff to have in stock as well and as freebies cause I thought - right I am going to do this properly....
This campaign is going better though and have £97 already with 10 days to go and have sent a book in with my husband to his work place and they have said that they will place an order and also dropped one round to another friend of mine today who has said that she will order so I should make some commission this time.
I have tried to think about it like a real business - that it will take at least 6 months to make the sort of return that I would like - My area has not had a regular rep - I have taken over from someone who has only done 3 campaigns and she told me she was stopped cause it was too cold to come out in the evening !!!
My advice to you is keep going and if you dont expect overnight success then it makes it easier to look long term - Dont think that I am saying that is what you are doing, just that I am not worrying if I dont make mega bucks cause I know after 6 months of territory postings and letting friends and family know in a non-pressurising way that it should come good.
Hope you decide to stay hun xx0 -
MissL2....maybe it would be worth re-brochuring the old rep's customers once more and do a printed "newsletter" saying that due to the last rep leaving the area you are taking over and look forward to being their new Avon rep.
That way they will know that you are not just muscling in on her patch!
I dont know which brochures you have already had but maybe re-start with a bang in the new year. Get in a few samples, there are quite often some on offer in HT and put on in with each book. Do a "spend £20 and get a free gift " offer, the free gift only has to be something cheap so if they spend £20 you will earn £5 at the higher rate so a pound out of that isnt too much to spend on the gift. Get some posters up in the area, shops, PO etc. Try local school or playgroup and offer them 5% of order value as a donation, at the higher rate you would still get 20% for yourself. Good luck. XXDebt free = December 2010...as of March 2006 it is now January 2010..... as of December 2008 it is now December 2009 :j hopefully sooner!!:jDEBT FREE:j January 2012, took longer but I got there, all by myself, through sheer hard work and pride!0 -
if you know which houses didnt give you books back could you go knock and ask for the brochure? You'll probably find you'll get loads more back. If they say they havent looked yet if you can leave it with them until *insert day*
Those that dont answer put a little note through saying you'll call back *insert day (ideally same as above)* and then if they dont leave it out that day knock again.
If they STILL dont answer the door then put a note through saying "sorry i missed you when i called to collect your brochure today.. you can still order by phone/email until *insert a deadline time and day (day BEFORE your order is due maybe?) * and include your contact details.
You never know people might not have remembered to put them outside because they are not used to doing that for you?!I have customers who know im coming etc but still dont leave it out and like me to knock so they can hand the book to me.
Im only on my 3rd campaign... so by no means an expert but i do the above and get most of my books back!
You know you said you did 2 campaigns at once... Did you give everyone the 2 books or did you give somepeople one book and some another? Because depending on what you did and what campaign you should be on you should be able to use at least some of them books again if not all of them....0 -
I just want to apologise for my angry face on my previous post, didn't realise before posting. Sorry0

I hope it's not too embarrassing for you! Although if you get extra freebies thanks to me I guess I can feel good about that! Let me know how it goes!
p.s been away from boards for a while as I have been sick with an ear infection, still hasn't gone away so going to doctors this week, feel crappy.

More like a fraud infection than ear, opps I mean investigation on play.com! :money:0 -
Fyi, just logged into ebay, and had a message offering a £3.00 voucher off anything. Perfect if you're stocking up on bags like these:

Nothing showing on my ebay account - must be just selected 'chosen' people :-(
How did you get the message? Was it an announcement or an email?0 -
It just came up on 'My Messages'. I presumed everyone had received one! Hopefully some people will benefit, sorry if you got all excited!0

I'm dragging my mum out for company doing the Avon now. Not liking this weather and some streets I don't like doing at all in the dark. When I started I was breezing past the gangs of lads, but I think this break-up is really taking its toll on my confidence.
I will keep at it though, I like that Avon forces me to get up, presentable, and out there.0 -
anyone know what is in the £50 box yet?0
