At our team meeting yesterday we had one of the top 20 sales leaders in the country come and do a talk with us - it was excellent and very inspiring - she gave us lots of great tips for repping and sales leadership, I asked her loads of questions, she was fantastic - she earned £2,500 in commission last campaign - can you believe it!!!

Anyway, one of her many tips I thought I would share as I am going to test run it on one of my roads today. It is a road that I haven't yet reduced down to only interested parties so thought it would be good to try.

She said that being 50 years old in the UK Avon has a stigma for being old fashioned, and because of that people don't realise all the wonderful branded products and other items that avon do, alot don't realise there are great products for men or brands such as Fiorelli bags etc. So her tip to get new customers is to fold the brochure over onto a page with an item that is young and fresh, or a mens product, anything that you think might attract new buyers, and fold the brochure over onto that page, then slide it into the bag with the order form sticking out of the top. That way, when it comes through their door it won't look like it's from avon, at first, altho it will say avon on the order form - they will first see the brilliant fiorelli bag and think - wow I didn't know avon did fiorelli! Well that's the idea anyway. So I am planning to have half my books with the normal cover and half with a different page of great items, so far I have chosen, fiorelli bag, storm bag, the handbag and shoes charm bracelet, fred bennett stuff for men, watch for men, pink filofax. It looks great. I will take a picture in a minute so you can all see.

I will also report back and let you know if I got any new customers from it!!

Im just debating now leaving one of these and the eye lift off my order and *hoping* they remember to send the beauty bonus bag.. OR whether to order them then return them? But think that might be lots of faffing

Sorry Pinzy - can't help on that one. I keep all my HT's, sad person that I am! You can view them on the website though if you go through as if to place your order.

:mad: I need another rant!

I have a customer who was quite good with payments earlier in the year but, probably because of the credit crunch and Christmas, has been a nightmare the last twice. No answer to emails - never in if I call - OH answers her phone and hangs up as soon as I speak. I've now sent her an email saying that she can split the order in two if she wants and pay half now and half in a week or so, so we'll see if she answers that (I've also said that I have to pay Avon next week and will have to make up the shortfall myself if I don't collect most of my money - thought I'd try the guilt trip angle )

I'm reluctant to lose her because she was recommended by a very good customer and I think she's just on a tight budget, but then aren't we all, and anyway she knew when delivery was when she ordered. Large orders are all very well, but in this case it's more than my profit

OK - rant over - I'll shut up and go away now

on the new avon website you can view it online at the end of the order! i don't think it shows the clearance section but it is better than nothing
