well just done my first collection.... bit disapointed as only got a total of 9 books back out of 29 (and some of them i had to knock for!!)
Got 2 houses say "no more thanks"... and two "not this time but i want a book" BUT i also got 2 orders.. totalling £60!
So up to now i have bang on £100 in orders with more to come definetely off family :j
That's a pretty good total - when I dropped my first lot of books I got about 4 back out of 36 and 1 order for 23.50!Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not after you.:p

I have flats on my territory, first time I did them I put out 66 books and only got 2 back, no orders....
Even now I have only had 3 orders from them, totalling about £30. I'm on my 4th campaign there now, and I still give a book to every flat that hasn't specified that they don't want one, just in case. They are my last backordered houses, so if I don't get the books back now, I'm not that fussed.
Don't forget, it takes 3 or 4 campaigns to get properly established in a territory, but if you really aren't having any joy your ASM should be willing to let you change or expand your territory, so long as there is some free.0 -
I've really stuggled this time, have 5 orders in, but only just scrapping past £70 and finally collecting of books is on Monday. it's my second campaign and I've been given better streets for my next one, so can't wait to get started on them!0

Hi everyone,
Been so busy signing people up that I haven't had a chance to read the posts - I am 4 pages behind!! Will try and reply quickly in one thread or two!
Kat xI love getting this exercise and knowing I'm getting money for it! (I may have mentioned that a few times before)
Once or twice - hee hee :rotfl: Just wanted to say my husband thought your idea was inspired - about waiting outside of weight watchers!'ere folks. I've just made an additional order (I'll get charged £2.50 but the commission will cover that. It said on the subtotal that I'd be getting 20% commission, because it was £80. So does that mean I'll end up with 25% commission on the main order, and only 20% on the additional order?
Yes that right - you get your commission based on that order not that campaign, same thing happened to me when I placed an additional order. You have to spend £144+ in one order to get 25%I had my ASM round today to explain sales leadership to me but not sure whether to go for it or not. Seems to me like it could be a lot more work for little extra reward - do people agree with this or should I just go for it?
Personally I am loving it! I have only been a trainee sl for a week but it is totally fab! I guess it depends what you want to gain from avon. I want it to replace my current income, eventually, so that's why I am gung-ho about it, but if it's just a hobby probably better off staying a rep. The most inspiring story I heard recently, is my asm said to me at the meeting 'that women you were just talking to is one of my best reps' she then went on to tell me that she is a sales leader with 62 people in her team, and was thrilled last campaign to get £2,000 in commission from her team, £2k in 3 weeks! How crazy is that!!! I hope people start telling a similar story of me in a year or two's time!!I have just recieved my biggest single order ie.one person since i started in C5.....178 pounds...i nearly dropped down dead!!!! Has anyone ever exceeded this amount???
HOLY COW!!!   Good for you!! The best I have had so far is £57 and I was thrilled with that, less so now! :rolleyes:Just been to deliver my orders and at least half of the recipients weren't home
Popped back to a customers house to collect her order from C15 and was having a chat with her and her hubby about delivery dates before xmas ... when she realised there were only 2 more deliveries after this one but 3 brochures she took C16 off me to give me an order on Saturday towards her current order :T
That's a good point! I think I will mention that in the box on the order from, something like 'Only 3 more avon deliveries before christmas - don't miss out!'
I don't know if you already do it, but last campaign I left a note for all my customers, posted it through their door 4 days before delivery which said, this is how much your order comes to, pls have correct money if possible and I will deliver between 5-7pm on this date, please text/ring/email if inconvenient. It worked like a charm! 3 texts to re-arrange and everyone was in with the correct money!Put my order in yesterday - only £65 so not very happy. Originally my SL told me just to do friends and family, but I knew I wouldn't get many orders so asked if I could do my mums street and the one next to it which only has 6 houses on. She said I could have the streets - well, out of 26 books I only got about 8 of them back, and only 2 of those had ordered. I took one into work (work actually told me I wasn't allowed to put one in the staff kitchen area as it was classed as selling on the premises, but people could ask me if I had a book), so I just took one and told people I had it. I got 3 orders from there which actually made up most of my total.
I'm hoping it won't be like this every time, otherwise I think I'll have to knock it on the head!
Personally I would ask for more territory, you would have to have a very avon friendly street to get MOV on a street of 26 houses. As a sales leader I get sent the neighbourhood reports from the asm's and when you request territory they usually give you enough homes so that your expected sales are around £200. In some areas you are given 90 homes as they are very avon friendly, or it can be as many as 200 homes to get the same value of orders. In my area I have received an average of 18% orders from my customers, so 18 customers out of every 100 houses. You got 7% from that road, which means it was just not a good road, although it may improve in time. I would ask your asm for better roads, they know what ones are good and what ones are not.
Good luck!MiniLauraRocks wrote: »Ill add the abrievations to the first thread if anyone wants? any others that may be useful?
MOV = Minimum Order Value (which is £76)
If it's not already on there you might want to mention that you have to register with the HMRC that you are self-employed within 3 months or face a £100 fine.
Also mention, in bold lettering, that you are only allowed to drop brochures in the territory you have been assigned, do not drop brochures into random houses, only people you know. For example you are not assigned your own road as your territory you can't drop brochures through the door, BUT if you are friends with no.7 and no.12 (as an example) you can show them a brochure, and it's their choice to switch or not. Please also note that even if the asm or sales leader tells you it is ok do not randomly drop brochures in houses, you MUST be given the territory by your asm, some of them give the wrong info.

Blimey, Kat - take a breath
Johanne - looks like you're doing pretty well to me, especially as people are not used to you yet , & Clazzle - I guess she'll be getting a free gift then!!
I know I've mentioned it before, but is no-one else uneasy about the fact that Avon seem to be removing the guarantee from everywhere? I can't help wondering if they are about to change the terms so that you can't return used stuff if you don't like it. I can imagine that some people take the p*** and return things they've used almost all of. Mind you, I've just looked back on brochure 17 last year, and it wasn't in that one either, so perhaps it's just making more room for the Christmas stuff.....but then it used to be on the paper bags'Better to ask a silly question than to make a silly mistake' Elliebee's Mum

Oh, how I wish I could drive...
PS) where abouts in Slough?
I don't know slough too well, one was in sl6 and the other was sl2. I also had one in windsor.
The 3 I did yesterday I had 2 in banbury and 1 in leighton buzzard, all went really well, in fact, one of my ladies emailed me this morning to say she has collected £112 of orders in just 2 days! I was shocked and happy!

Well done for getting £100 of orders so quickly and don't worry if you don't get all the brochures back this time, you start to realise over time, by keeping track in your call book, where to leave brochures and what houses won't give them back. Leaving calling cards helps to get books back, and some people won't order at first due to high turnover of reps, stick around for a few campaigns and they will start to order.

I'm not worried, I'm sure if they were planning to remove it they wouldn't have put the 90 day guarantee as a selling point in the new appointment packs for signing up new reps. Plus asm's find out these sorts of things way in advance and there has been no chats about that on flissys, so sure it is fine. Anyway, they can't remove the guarantee completely, legally they have to allow 30 days as it is distance selling agreement.
