By the way, about trendsetters (I have loads in my team :P) they can backorder two campaigns. Since they are two camps ahead of everyone, that means they can order from the national camp and then the usual previous camp for them (just like us)
eg, if they are on C2, they can backorder to C1 (previous one like us) and C18 (current national camp)0 -
My ASM has suggested that when we collect C1 we give out C2 there and then.
Does that help?
Since they are short campaigns, this may help, yes. It's called one stop selling. Basically, you'd give them C1, when you go to collect their C1 order, you give them C2 book, then you delivery C1 you pick up C2 and give them C3, etc
I think! Bit confusing, but once your customers get used to it, thats them sorted0 -

Did you meet Christine? She's lovely. I am lucky to have a great ASM, she replies promptly to any queries you have, and remember if you need anything then just let me know. I don't live too far x0 -
Thanks!!:D
If i declare my earnings how do I go about having all the demos/bags and stuff reimbursed?
And do you have a rough idea of how much i will be taxed?
Kirsty
I'm certainly no tax expert, especially as I'm a 'poor old pensioner' and therefore no longer pay tax, however you just need to keep all the receipts for anything you spend on your Avon business. You need to ring HMRC - you'll find them in the phone book - and register as self employed, which you must do within, I think, 3 months of starting (perhaps someone can confirm?). When you fill in a tax form (which they'll send you in due course), you will only be asked for a total figure, amount of expenses, and final profit (ie total minus expenses), so you won't have to detail every item unless they think the amount unreasonable and ask you to justify it. The tax you pay will be at the current rate of tax (??? 22% ???) on your profit alone.
HELP - I'm sure we have someone on here who can explain it much better than I can'Better to ask a silly question than to make a silly mistake' Elliebee's Mum

Don't forget, that on your short campaigns (the short campaigns seem to vary depending on what area you are in) the MOV is being reduced to about £56 if I remember rightly - £50 something in anycase lol, to compensate for the fact that we have less time to get orders in, making it much easier to at least get a few orders in. I'm going to try and continue as normal over the short campaigns - but some customers I might miss a campaign with, namely the ones that don't order that often anyway, as they certainly won't order again within 2 weeks lol!
As for tax - you don't exactly get reimbursed for costs - when filling in your tax return, you add up all your "costs" (brochures, bags, samples, demo products, paper, etc etc) and then look at what avon reckons you have earnt (the figures on your invoices) - this gives you your profit, which is what you pay tax on. There are a lot of things that you can put down as costs, just think of absolutely everything you use for your avon, and make sure you save receipts! Being self employed doesn't affect you regular jobs tax code (I work full time as well as doing avon), and if you ring up to register they are really helpful.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
anyone know how it effects child tax or IS and HB thankies!0

Hi everyone, I'm new to the MSE site and i'm a new Avon rep too, just doing friends and family for the moment as i'm off on a 3 week holiday for most of december, I put my first order in this week totalling just under £300 so very pleased indeed! will be starting my training as a sales leader in January and branching out to my own little territory as I see myself doing well with this, have been reading all of the helpful hints and tips (thank you) just wanting to say hello really! xx0

Just spent ages getting my books ready to drop off. My delivery is tomorrow, and I deliver my orders on Wednesday, leave them with the books for a week, then collect the following Wednesday. Even then, about 6 people say that they haven't had time to look, and I have to go back on Friday lol!
These short campaigns have really thrown me! What I have ended up doing, is giving brochures 18 & 1 together, and I will give 2 and 3 together. However, I will order on the normal order dates, and deliver each order when it arrives. More work for me, but hopefully it strikes the right balance between bothering the customers too much, and it also means that they don't have to wait nearly a month for their products.
I will let you know how it goes! I put a few celebrations choccies in each brochure bag too - hope they go down well!0
