Do you get a lifetime guarantee and a no quibble money back guarantee if it turns out to be incompatible when you buy off Ebay?

Just because the specs are the same doesn't mean it'll work. The generic stuff is made from the chips recovered from sticks that've failed QC at the main mftrs.

No but, I bought USED second hand sticks I took the chance and they work fine. Its about choice, and theres pleny out there.

If you want it NOW pay top dollar from the likes of PC world,
if your a cheapskate like me buy Second hand.
If you want a bargain and willing to wait and do some reseach shop around.

    A fair point
I SHOULD have said look out for decent branded stuff. Samsung seems to be really cheap on there

    PC World cheap?!
Depending on spec required www.7dayshop.com vat free under £20 and you can buy multiple iteam for the same P&P and still avoid the vat :)

Actually it is cheap. Just bought some RAM from there. It was only a quid dearer than Crucial and picked it up in store which is only a couple of miles from me. They do web exclusive prices (reserve and pick-up) which can be a tenner cheaper than the in-store price.

Wll I dont think Crucial is particularly cheap either and I'll stand by the remark as I've no doubt if you wandered over to the business section and asked 'how much' they'd match the 'exclusive deal'.
Though if they're being honest, as the staff in my local one were, suggest you try scan.co.uk.
