Completely agree with that. Find out what you need then buy from ebay. Just be aware though that if you buy 1 gig ram 'chips' that you need the correct kind ~ jedec compliant (Plenty of ebay sellers sell the c*appy ones that wont work on most computers ~ make SURE you know what your buying first ~ and buy from england)):idea:0 -
Another vote for Crucial, been using them for years, top notch service and RAM with a return guarantee.0

Ram is so cheap now, PC world saves the hassle of waiting for the postman.Nothing to see here, move along.0

You might like to check out MandMMaintenance.co.uk they do a lot of computer refurbishments for my old firm and sometimes the PCs are scrapped so they might even give free RAM away! Also hunt around boot fairs and your local dump - you'll be surprised what people throw out!0

PC World cheap?!
Depending on spec required www.7dayshop.com vat free under £20 and you can buy multiple iteam for the same P&P and still avoid the vat

Completely agree with that. Find out what you need then buy from ebay.
Do you get a lifetime guarantee and a no quibble money back guarantee if it turns out to be incompatible when you buy off Ebay?
Just because the specs are the same doesn't mean it'll work. The generic stuff is made from the chips recovered from sticks that've failed QC at the main mftrs.0
