it was only about free wristbands!!!!!!!!!!!???
Quite the contrary it might be to you, to others its about an awfull lot more, fortunately for me I never was bullied but I certainly would have worn one at my school as a message to bullies that I was an ally to the victim!
At present there is no such message, the wearing of these bands could mean a great deal to many, the original poster had his/her own reasons for posting and the first response was a negative one! Thats the kind of attitude that allows bullying to prevail, if you don't want a band fine if you want one fine but do us all a favour and take your ridicule elsewhere,
Thats me done on the issue I can get an arguement anywhere I come here for bargains.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -

Sorry I disagree, these are wristbands with a message, not a fashion accessory.0 -
Im going to nip this one in the bud, as i can see the topic matter causing an arguement
I think the overriding factor here is that any promotion to stop bullying has got to be a good thing, and if something like this raises awareness of the issue then that has to be a good thing too.
I dont think we need to go too off topic here, but i appreciate that people do have strong views on this subject. Can we ensure the thread, though, doesnt get too heated.

I have sent for one of the wristbands. I was never bullied at school but have been bullied in my working life which caused me to lose a job I loved. Anything which may help is worth a try.0

I don't know why this thread has been closed. The latest position is that Radio 1 are getting a load more to send out ('Newsround' 23/11/04). The website currently shows 'You can order your beat bullying wristbands from here at 8am'.
So try again tomorrow.0 -

Think Radio One stocks are running low. Sneak magazine are also giving them away and I know they have 2000 available still.
Email sneakmail@emap.com with your name and address, and you'll be sent one within 28 days.0 -
As people seemed to have different views on the 'blue bands', I've started a thread in the discussions board HERE
This is rather than turning this 'freebie' post into a discussions about the rights and wrongs of it.I'm a little angelBUT A WHOLE LOTTA DEVIL
