Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
i wouldnt even pay 1p to go over as a foot passenger. I went across on the 10th (tickets were a gift) and ive never wasted so much of my brithday in my life! constantly waiting, waiting, waiting. It was a different day out, but i'd defo pay more to go by the tunnel.

    My top tips are:
get there well in time because we had trouble working out where to park, boyfriend didnt know where the bus was to take us to the ship so we nearly missed our sailing!

When you get off the other side there is a bus that you catch that takes you into calais, but by looking at it it isnt that much of a walk before you hit some shops/bars ect. The bus costs one euro 50 cents each (we presumed that was a single fair) We had to wait over 20 minutes for the bus.

If you want to go to cite europe (shopping centre) we got a taxi from the bus/train station in calais for about 10 euros. We couldnt be arsed to work out the bus, but it didnt look too hard.

When you return the "arrive 45 mins before" rule didnt apply. Our ticket said 16:45 so we presumed we had to get there 45 mins before that time so we arrived in good time and ended up waiting about an hour and a half for the boat. We boarded at like 5 to 5 or something silly, pretty much sailed off not long after we sat down.

So yea, dont make the same mistakes as we did! (although as two 22 year olds who cant work their way out of a paper bag we did do ok)

As we are now getting these offers again, replying to Polyglot's questrion about trips from Calais...

As far as i can see, no offers like this from Calais. What I would do in this situation (assuming suitable availability) would be to book 2*2p returns from Dover, not using the 1st outward or 2nd return half. Obviously It makes no difference what times you book for the bits you won't use.

I would not book the portions I wasn't going to use on the same date as the return I was going to use, in case they invoke their rule of charging you up to £95 when you buy a day return and don't use it. I can't see any terms and conditions against you using only one half of a 2p return though.

Option 2 to play it a bit safer, buy a cheap single from Norfolkine, Dunkerque to Dover, then use a 2p return coming back from Dover, and not use the return portion.

    Hope this helps...
  • Update: The codes HUNT7 and DT1P both work, but for some reason you sometimes have to attempt a few times before the system will let you in. Once you are in, just use the forward/back in time tabs to unearth the 1p crossings....plenty showing up as I write and 100 fresh ones in the morning.

    Get the 2p returns!

    HUNT7
    DT1P
  • I keep getting the following error

Unfortunately, the combination of dates, times, vehicle or passengers entered is no longer available. Please try again.

I've tried the codes a number of times as well!!!!!!!

I'm trying to get away on the 27th sep returning on the 4th Oct
  • It does not seem to allow bookings which have a September date.....but all dates in October, November and December are working with code HUNT7 for me...
