Painting a bumper - help!

also after talking to the bloke, they had hundreds and hundreds of flood damaged cars last year after the floods, so lots of new cars that are perfect for things like bumpers etc0

Trouble is a 'cheap' blowover will still be about £100 with paint, materials and a blend, unless you want it to look very obvious!?
You dont need to blend the bumpers - they usually come pre-painted anyway. Even in the factory the bumpers are often painted off site on a different paint line.0 -
Depends if it's a one-piece bumper or not, but I take your point. Where I work we only get primed bumpers, there is not an option for pre-painted, so was going from my own experience only!thescouselander wrote: »You dont need to blend the bumpers - they usually come pre-painted anyway. I agree. I srawped my bumper a couple of weeks ago. It is one piece, ie, thier is no lower seam or place the paint couls be finished without doing the whole bumper.
Down the road from me is an expert private body shop. He does insurance work, he has to to survive. He said that he would do mine for £100 cash, (no one but he would know the difference), but under insurance it would be over £300+ the Vat, as insurers expect it to need blending in.:money:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
I got the bumper on my hocus pocus focus resprayed for £150 cash and they have done a fantastic job. Just ask round some local bodyshops and see what prices they quote you."He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,
He will kill your cat and nail him to the door"

....... you have to prep the area and use a plastics primer - Halfies or your local discount shop for a fiver. Than spray your topcoat over the primer when its dry. Some finishes - metallics and paearls are difficult to match but it depends how you want the finish to look whther its acceptable or not0
