Its astounding that you percieve the advice offered on an internet forum to sway your future.
Got some magic beans here....................................i could probably talk you into buying them.
Trust me mate, it wasn't this place that swayed it. Although it did offer useful advice which I looked into further.

I just don't get your point. So, nobody should ask for advice here? Or they should ask for advice and entirely disregard what is said?

As Chris said, come here, get some alternative views, then go away and think about it.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I hope you don't mind me interfering, Chris, but I phoned Nationwide on 0800 30 20 10. (Heck, it was free!) I spoke to a very nice lady called Elizabeth Curry in the Nationwide Direct Mortgage Centre, who assured me that reservation fees are refundable if you choose not to go ahead. I pointed out that it is not on the website, and she said that it has changed in the last few months. I suggest that you speak to them, then discuss it with your IFA.

Bloody hell, I don't know how you managed to have the patience... I was on hold for about 15 minutes before being picked up by general enquiries, and then shipped around 3 or 4 times with a 10 minute wait between each... lol.

Anyway, they hadn't refunded the money yet, but I managed to arrange for them to transfer it to my account by BACS by next week...

Looks like I may be £20 or so down, but I couldn't be bothered to argue about £20.

Hey, that's a good result!

Looked at my statements, and it seems I was wrong, they actually took £1199.

That aside, I still haven't received the money. I will ring them tomorrow and see what is going on, but does anyone know how long BACS transfer usually takes? My employer pays me via BACS and it usually doesn't take long at all.
