A BIT annyoed since I have to re-write my entire post because of some error!!
BUt anyways... I also got a call today at work! from these people. A gentleman with a very thick, almost non-understandlbe indian accent called me to soledate my apparent debts..
I have no debts so when I asked where he got this information and from whom he gave some dodgy answer which I still didn't understand because he never said who. He the proceeded to give me my details and asking me to confirm, I was still asking who gave you this information? All he said is "Do you have a debt? We are here to help you.." When I said to him, look I don't know who you are and why you are calling me, instead of clearing up the fact, he just said I am Harry, from bch (turned oput to be dch) when I asked about a web adress he claimed it to be www.dch.com... it is not.. I also asked him why he was calling me, he then just said. We will get back to you tomorrow..before I could say NO THANK YOU! and ask for contact details.. he hung up in my ear..VERY RUDE.
Now, I don't know what serious debt cosoladating company would have non fluent english speaking people as staff (as this seems to be the trend, when seeing previous posters..) and the staff seem to be very rude and not willing to share information about why/who and from where they are calling..
If anyone get's anymore info about this so called company than pls post! Phone nr anything! I became a member just so I could post this since there was no info on the internet except this thread.. and judging by the nr of people who has looked at the thread since the first was posted just a few days ago it seems like many people are trying to figure out the same thing...
It would seem the debt collection companies are using these companies purely to extract a bit more information from people about the creditor by what amounts to harassment. Trouble is,if you can't find out who they are. They "appear" not to be linked to any so-called reputable debt collector( not sure there is such a thing),which is very convenient.0 -
thay are usually part of the same company and also probably in the same office.
Have a look at www.consumeractiongroup.com for furhter help as this forum specificall ydeals with people who are in debt or being chased for debt that is not theirs but is associated with a telephone number or address that for some reason the debt agencies are using.
They have template letters to shut these people up, well more to stifle them a bit and at least shows your consumer rights which are more than some people realise0 -
Well, we had another call today with an Indian gentleman shouting down the phone, "if you do not pay we will sue you!" He was told to carry on, so lets wait and see what happens0

Has anyone tried asking them what they think they owe them and how they can pay, just to see what they say? This DCH is obviously not legit but I can't believe they just cold call people and say "you owe us money" and some people actually go "oh ok then" and give them some?!0

I had one similar at work last week. However, the number on my screen came up as a local number? It was an indian sounding lady, couldn't make out where she said she was calling from, saying we had outstanding invoices. Well, at first she didn't say that, she said something about owing them money. I had to keep asking her to repeat herself.
Anyhow, when it got down to the invoice and owing thing I just told her she was speaking to the wrong department and tried to put her through to purchase ledger but she hung up.0 -

AAhh you are making the mistake that you believe you can have a conversation with these people... It does not happen! We kept asking "What address do you have?" "What is the amount of money?" etc but all you get is. "You owe money and you must pay", it really does not help to get to the bottom of the problem, they really are just too thick to be able to understand that you are trying to help them so that they dont keep bothering the wrong person. If they have to keep pestering someone it should be the ones that haven't paid the bills and not me....

I'm sorry Kevaw but I don't believe you, you obviously owe money and you must pay. Pay them the money that you owe them, you owe them money so pay, pay this money that you owe.
Is it like that?0 -
I dont believe it!!! They are so rude!!! I tried asking where she was calling from and where they got my number from but was just given a load of gibberish!!! When i was questioning her a bit more, she then proceeded to hang up!!! You dont even get the chance to tell them to stop ringing!!!
Just been on to my phone provider and they told me because they are offering debt management (we dont even know if thats true though as we cant get that far with them!!) they wont get blocked if you are registered with tps, as i am. So annoying, will just have to wait to see if they call again and try and tell them im not interested!!!0 -
I have had two phone calls, one of which was at work. He would not tell me where he got my details form. The guy sounded as though he was from a call centre in India. I was not given a number to call back.
Glad my suspicions have been confirmed.0 -
hi guys, just spent the morning getting to the bottom of this issue. to put a complaint in with the info comm/OFT, the indian/asian company must be affiliated with a UK company. THAT COMPANY IS.... REPAYMENT-MANAGEMENT.CO.UK (ltd) the managing director is... arvind seymin, and to put a complaint in regarding this issue you can either report them to the above organisations, or... (preferably) call a man called DENNIS ARDY (supervisor) on 0845 257 8954. TELL HIM 'MRS OLDFIELD' sent you, he will love that...
i've just given him the worst half an hour of his life...
the company and its subsidiaries are awful, and say they have no liability for how the asian companies work... THIS IS UNTRUE. you may also have the right to call the police to report them for harassment.
if everyone actually calls the company and the OFT, they will have to stop... so come on, stop moaning, and put the complaint in... we ay actually stop them.
im going for some compensation for my time and distress, and as such have a call booked with the other managing director on tuesday. ill post again to let you all know how it goes, and whether you in turn are due some monetary compensation... WISH ME LUCK!
