I guess I might be called a lurker also - the thing is I don't like to talk about nothing, I prefer to share tips/glitches and am doing so (I found some nice parenting club vouchers combinations a while ago and gladly shared with you all). I don't have time to read every post - I'm mum, wife and don't spend all my time in front of computer. I try to keep this thread clear of my unimportant and unurgent matters, so only post when I have spare vouchers or want to ask advice/vouchers/magazines when I can't get them myself.
Please don't get me wrong - I understand that not everyone is like me and loves to share their tips about make-up, thoughts about life or even their private life. But I prefer read just glitches/tips (shame, not all of them are on 1st post, so I have to read all posts).
I'm on this thread for 2 years now and saw that something really changed. Most of you are still very warm and friendlyNo wonder Boots canceled lots of advantage cards.
No wonder no one PMed me with newest glitch.
But I'm still waiting :A
I usually post a couple of times a week when I have some Boots news to tell or vouchers to offer or items people have asked about, so like you not a 'regular', but yeh things are going a bit mad on here lately and often find that posts of not so regulars seem to be lost as there are that many chatty posts. Like you say most people are friendly but if it didn't get read by 'lurkers!' too then it wouldn't show as one of the most popular threads -would it???
Here's to the next big instore glitch - can't get on with the new .com site!!0 -

I'm on this thread for 2 years now and saw that something really changed. Most of you are still very warm and friendly, but.. I remember one post when one of us (I guess you call her regular, not lurker!) wrote about her trip to Boots. She ordered xx (can't remember) pictures and tried to 'pay' with magazine's vouchers. When SA refused pointing at t&c's that one voucher per person, MSEr (shame on us!) arrogantly asked: scan her pictures in separate transactions of 5's to use vouchers, or she won't take her pictures at all!!! OMG, where are we going??? Taking 20 magazines just because of vouchers and then throwing them away isn't green - just greedy. Try to imagine what SAs might think about such customers. No wonder Boots canceled lots of advantage cards.

Someone did post (I think it might even have been on the previous thread, although it was only about a week ago) about Hairbrushes in Boots being reduced - but I cannot find the details.
I have just waded through 90 odd pages of gliche/what gliche/lets guess the gliche/ why-am-I-not-told-the-gliche etc posts, and cannot find any mention of hairbrushes - So if some kind soul could let me know which make/range it was ?
I visited the Fosse Park store today, and there are loads of different 'makes' but none had any reduced prices - and I couldn't take them all to a till to price check !!
Many thanks in advance for any information,
and by the way, my youngest is 16, and I have never sold a single thing on ebay in my life.......but then why should you believe me ?;)
The hairbrush reduction seemed to be like the perfume reduction - reduced by 75% for a day or so then went back to normal price.
There might be a few stragglers around, but the range I bought was Revlon, Boots own (light wooden handle with white brush, and one item in the Toni & Guy range. I think geordie_lass (?) mentioned another range, but can't recall what it was.

Morning peepsOh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive. ~ Sir Walter Scott0 -
Am about to crash for the night, has taken me this long to catch up, but was worth it.
Before I do I have a question.
I recently bought some hair clippers with my Boots points. The manufacturers blurb says if you are not happy you can return them. Suffice to say they get stuck in the hair and are absolutely awful! Question is how do I actually return them since I used points to *buy* them? Instore or via the manufacturer? Main queory is that if I have to return them to the manufacturer will I get my points back?
My poor precious points. LOL
Will check for answers in the morn'.TIA

Hoping someone can help - does anyone know which Boots store is ref. 1377? I have a transaction for there on my debit card but can't remember buying anything from Boots this week - I have 'been about' a bit this week though, and am prone to 'senior moments'
.
Thanks all xA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

They just refunded my points as I wanted a more expensive one to replace broken one and I just bought a different hairdryer with refunded points. However, if you want a refund of points not sure what they do.
Morning *JT*
I always think of points as money, so if, for instance, I returned a faulty item, I'd want my points (money lol) back iyswim.
(Very courageous of you to return something lol) I'm wondering how to avoid being too chatty but I can't help myselfOh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive. ~ Sir Walter Scott0 -
I keep seeing offers for members of the HC in postings, and I wondered if somebody could tell me how you receive these offers.
I signed up to the HC using the instore machine the other day. Does this mean I will automatically receive discounts?
Many thanks.0 -
I was sorry to see all the controversy last night. However, I think everyone's heart was in the right place - there's always going to be people a bit miffed, whatever was done about the nappy glitch. As it happened it seems at least a few real mummies got the nappies. I mean the OP doesn't owe anybody anything and did what she thought was best. I, for one, have benefitted lots and lots and lots from various glitches before so have no complaints about this one being held back for a while. I am grateful to everyone on here for their help in the past.
I felt a bit wierd when people were talking about Facebook. I don't know anything about Facebook, but it seems there is an alternative 'secret' Boots community on there. Or can anyone go on, like on here ? Or is it invitation only ? And I'm not sure why the person who put the link to Facebook was called "malicious" if it is an open place for everyone to go on ? If it's an 'open for everyone place' then why is link not on first page of this thread ? I'm confused <paranoid red blush face> !
The other thing that annoys me a little bit is when all ebayers are labelled as if they are the scum of the earth. I don't think things are as black and white as that. For some people ebay is a way to feed their kids or buy them clothes. For each ebay trader who buys hundreds of items so no-one else can benefit, there are a lot more mums selling bits and pieces to make a few extra pounds for a few treats for their kids.0 -
