Made a huge mistake..
Got my MAC code from AOL and thought, hey Tiscali look ok. 2meg unlimited £17.99 / month. so i called the other night to join.
Now i have found lots of negative comments about Tiscali and their customer services!! including speed problems.
Would you give them a try?, are they getting better?
I can call them and cancel can't I? i'm sure i have 14 days cooling off period?

PS what do you think of Demon as an ISP

Could it not be the case though that people only put negative comments not praise. Are all the complaints justified or generated by people not knowing what they are doing, making unreasonable demands or being rude to customer services when they call.
I haven't seen the comments and know nothing about Tiscali, but seeing what things some people on this forum moan about when in fact they are in the wrong, makes me wonder whether all the negative things you have read about Tiscali are justified.0 -
i find with companys that people moan abt the bad things weather they be big or small but the same people wouldnt think of praising them even if its just that they have never had to complain to the company.. a lot of the companys on here that people complain abt have millions of customers most of them happy and what i say is if you think its a good deal for you try them out , tell them you want a trial period and if you not happy say thank you but im not interested anymore and go elsewere.Those we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,

Been on Demon since September...no problems thus far. You get a free modem and filters. Nice welcome pack. Don't know what the customer service is like as I haven't ahd to use it. Think its about £20 2mb uncapped

i am with tiscali and had no problems so far, the only bad thing i can say about them is if you have a problem and need to phone customer services it costs 50p a min aaannnnddd ttthhheeeyyy ttaaalllkk rrreeaalllyy s l o w l y to milk you for every penny, also it is a call center in india and they don't speak good englis or can sometimes be hard to understandWork like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0

Thanks for all your help. Have called Tiscali and cancelled the application. have to wait 10 to 15 days to make sure the line is released. looking at getting demon i think. E seven looks good value for money but christmas is round the corner and pre pay broadband is'nt in the budget.

All payments are in arrears for the amount of bandwidth used except for a set minimum fee. Been with them for 11/2 years with no problems.
Anyway look at the http://bbs.adslguide.org.uk/ forums to check on the feedback for the various suppliers.

Theyre incompetant. Their customer service is awful. They dont let you speak to technical support even though theyve caused the problem. They take no responsibility for their subcontractors but instead blame them for causing problems. They dont follow up technical reports theyve asked their subcontractors to provide. They dont respond to emails. They make you spend ages in a queue on an 0870 phone call. They dont own problems. They dont call you back when they say they will. They think sending you a new modem will solve all technical problems. They dont know that theyre making changes that may trash your broadband connection. They ignore their own complaints procedure.
