Why are Utilities Warehouse Club never mentioned?

This is really for Martin Lewis or his staff, and the price comparison sites. I have recently been approached about the Utilities Warehouse Club (aka Telecom Plus), and, being the cynical type, decided to see what MSE have to say on the subject. I was very surprised therefore to find nothing at all even though they guarantee to beat the prices of the top 6 suppliers - surely therefore they must be cheaper? I tried a search for the club and Telecom Plus, and merely found them mentioned as a result of them raising their prices. I also looked on the comparison sites and didn't find them at all. Does this mean that they are not cheaper, or is it that they fall underneath the radar because of their unusual operating formula? Or have they just been overlooked? Would appreciate an official answer as well as comments from other forum members. Would also appreciate feedback on the benefits and/or drawbacks of the club. Many thanks in anticipation.

Whoever approached you and told you that lied to you.
Not unusual for the uw which has for years been taken to task by the ASA for making misleading claims like this in their adverts.0 -
They actually say they will gaurantee to always be competitive against the big6.

...but not against their dual fuel and online tariffs. So that's not much of a guarantee.0

https://www.utilitywarehouse.co.uk/store/energy.tafOur unique "Triple Value" guarantee
1. For your gas, we guarantee our prices will always be cheaper than British Gas, wherever you live in the UK.
2. For your electricity, we guarantee our prices will always be cheaper than the prices charged by the regional electricity supplier for the area where you live.
3. And for your complete peace of mind, we guarantee our prices will always remain competitive compared with the cheapest tariffs available from the “Big 6” suppliers (see below).“Big 6” means the six major energy companies who currently supply over 98% of UK households, comprising British Gas, Powergen, npower, EDF (London Electricity, Seeboard and SWEB), Scottish Power and Scottish & Southern Energy.
Guarantees and price comparisons are based on the standard domestic usage profiles published by energywatch for low, medium and high users on a like-for-like basis, and exclude Club Membership fee, surcharge for gas customers using an Independent Gas Transporter, Dual-Fuel discounts and online tariffs. Only applies to direct debit customers. Some price comparism,s site dont mention them because they dont pay them to do so.0 -

Sorry, should have said I didn't include forums in my search as I want the 'official' succinct answer, which is not usually available on a forum discussion. I posted this on a forum because one is not able to approach MSE direct - hence my preamble to the post. It seems I was right because the forum discussion is more confusing than helpful, and the link which BROWNTOA gave me as the MSE view, contains no mention of it!! Trying to read between the lines though, UW is not so competitive and their cutomer service is variable, so it is really just a case of you pays your money and takes your choice. However, I would be loathe to be a distributor and try to get friends/family (or anyone come to that) to sign up to something that is not necessarily the best deal for them, just so that I can make a few pence.0
