I don't sit long enough for the lamp. Unless it was just at weekends. But that probably wouldn't be sufficient.
You could sit it next to your computer and bask in it whilst posting

Wow just did a very quick goggle, aren't they expensive that was the 3rd i looked at others were £160.
Good luck with your find and i hope it works for you.Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?0 -
And when your take one apart you will probably find a tube very similar in output to the £20 one from Screwfix. In the main it is the intensity of the light source, not it's quality, that causes the effect (though there is some evidence that some spectrum may be more beneficial than others) so try the cheapo light box first.Wow just did a very quick goggle, aren't they expensive that was the 3rd i looked at others were £160.
Sit as close to it as you can bear, the nearer, the brighter, the quicker the effect. I found it was totally pointless using the most powerful lights as it is so uncomfortable being near them you have to move away, so I was better with a less powerful light that I could have right by the PC.
But thankfully that is all in the past now I know how correcting Vit D3 insufficiency eliminates the problem at source. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

If you haven't already, try St Johns Wort. Excellent for winter blues but check wiith GP if taking any other meds.
I have taken St Johns Wort for 8 yrs during the winter time and I could not be without it.
Best to buy the good quality from Health Food Stores as it is more potent.
My husband found St John's Wort did nothing. I think it can help in terms of very mild depression, but not for anything more serious.
He always said he wanted a SAD lamp but we came to live in Spain instead. He still gets depressed although we have a nice blue sky and sunshine in the winter, but feels a bit better when he sees the blue sky (if that makes any sense).
Would be interested to hear about the SAD lamps though in case we are ever in the UK in the winter.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

The older you get the less vitamin d3 your skin is able to make. The skin of someone over 70 can only produce about a quarter of the D3 made by younger skin.seven-day-weekend wrote: »we came to live in Spain instead. Although slightly off topic I thought this NEWLY IDENTIFIED condition Asynchronization interesting. may also be part of the SAD problem. I always used to use my lights first thing in the morning and although I sometimes also used them during the afternoon I never used them at night.
Sleep hygiene, that is going to bed early, having a very dark bedroom, not putting on lights if you have to use the loo at night all help to maintain a good melatonin cycle and this will impact on mood levels. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program
