Want to buy a SAD lamp - any good deals?

Dreading the winter blues, so thought i would try a SAD lamp this year. Seems Boots don't do them anymore though. Has anyone seen any good deals or know where i can get the best price?

Thanks

I'd like one - am already 'sad'. Think that they are expensive and have to sit under them for awhile. I am out at work early, full time and not sure when I would get the time to sit under one, even if I could afford it... :o

    Not much help..

If you haven't already, try St Johns Wort. Excellent for winter blues but check wiith GP if taking any other meds.

I have taken St Johns Wort for 8 yrs during the winter time and I could not be without it.

Best to buy the good quality from Health Food Stores as it is more potent.

I got a Lumie brightspark last year and I think it helped. You start off just with a few minutes and build up to an hour a day. TBH you couldn't do more than a few minutes to start with as it has to go right into your eyes and it is so bright it is very uncomfortable at first. I'd got used to it in about a week, though.

I used it every day for a couple of months, and then went away for Christmas and got out of the routine and then SAD got me unawares. I reckon you'd need to start from about the clocks going back, if not before, to get full benefit from it.

No idea where the best deal is now, but I'd say expensive but worth it.

Sorry, I honestly can't remember - just recollect seeing them in Lloyds last year. I wonder if they're available on prescription ? Might be worth asking.

The MIND website has excellent information on St Johns Wort including the correct dose and Macro sells a very large tub of 500 x 300mg for £9.99.

May have to go the tabs route....

I don't sit long enough for the lamp. Unless it was just at weekends. But that probably wouldn't be sufficient.

SAD Lamps or lights advice would be great

    SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) lamp....

this would probably be fine for most people £19.99. Energy Saving 2D Task Light 38W
But do be aware I haven't used my sadlights for over 2 yrs now, they are still in the attic. Since I raised my D3 status above 125nmol/l with 4000iu/daily although I have to admit that I'm even better with 5000iu/daily. always better to eliminate the cause than for ever treat the symptoms.
