Laptop password - my silly 16 year old daughter!!

Hi, I take it from your post that the safe mode thing doesn't work because it is an admin password you need.... If so there is a way that you can reset any password without knowing it from a "guest" acount on the computer. It is a bit fiddly and involves using command prompt, I am not completely sure of how to do this but i know it can be done. Maybe someone else knows? After a quick google search i did find this link and this link If this doesn't work then it may well be worth reinstalling windows unless there are important files... My final word will be that if or hopefully when you do get this fixed, make sure there is a seperate admin acount to hers to which the password is noted down somewhere that you know where it will be, this doesn't reduce security because no one else will know where it is and if they happen to find it, what it is. That way she can still have her privacy from people without the issues faced now. Hope this helps

I had this problem the other day with a PC at work. I had to re-install Windows in the end, but this time I made sure I enabled the hidden Administrator account so that it doesn't happen again!
