I used this website to get an idea of what speed I could get from my phoneline:

And I use this one to test what I actually get:
www.speedtest.net/
Moved from Virgin's cable connection (was on base - 2Mb, was only offered up to 4.5Mb with my connection at the time) to Sky Broadband & had a new phone line installed in the process, now running around 6.5-6.9Mb whilst paying for 8Mb, so I'm happy.Where there's a will, there's a way to get something cheaper from somewhere else!!
